I think Great Adventure is really starting to get it right. I open my mail today and, to my great surprise, found a 2005 season pass with my 2004 season pass picture on it. The letter said that if I would like, I could sign online and activate this season pass for $75. I already have my season pass, but what a great idea! No waiting in any processing lines, and very convenient!
Then, I sign online and find that Six Flags has updated their construction photos with a bunch of pictures over of the last couple of days. Pretty neat. Then I check my e-mail and find a reminder that the park opens this Friday (not to mention that they will be giving out free Coke all day!)
I was just impressed. I think they are really advertising well and that the addition of the Golden Kingdom and all of the other changes (new shows, more security, some fresh paint here and there) are really helping the park change for the better. I believe the 2005 season will be one of the best we have seen (not to mention crowded) in a long time. Just my 2 cents.

I found the pictures slightly amusing. Especially the Kiddie Ride that is repainted
from Bugs Bunny Land. Well I know atleast
one little kiddie who will be happy! Can't wait for Friday, though I won't get there until around 3pm.

I got that mailing too and I was also pretty impressed. I know it's really just a ploy to get people to renew their 2004 passes by making it oh-so-easy to do so but this really works for me. One of the worst things about that first visit of the year is making time to get your pass processed- it eats into valuable Nitro time! Of course, Great Adventure always seems to be pretty good about the speed of the season pass processing, but still... this makes things very easy!

...it eats into valuable Nitro time! Why would you want to take a nap just after entering the park? ;)

The Gaylords.
Supposedly we're branching out into the amusement park industry.
On topic: These are good moves by SF. Hopefully a sign of steps in the right direction chainwide.

That sounds way LESS complicated that trying to get at SFMM pass processed for the first time (although you couldn't beat the deal at the time).
I keep hearing more and more positive things about Great Adventure which I think is wonderful!
Supposedly they are doing quite a bit for their season passholders, including an all-you-can-eat brunch this Friday for $9.99.

I'm one of Gonch's thugs, and I have goons -- anyone remember that ongoing gag from a few years back? Come to think of it its been a long time since I had to break out the goons. Methinks they'll make a comeback soon ;)
