Great Adventure Cancels Holiday In The Park

I went to Dollywood two winters ago and it was great.Lots of rides and lights.

At park closing, Santa waved from the balcony of the park exit as Christmas music played. Children were chasing bubbles that fell like snow. I actually got a little magical tear in my eye. It made me buy candy at the unavoidable gift shop.

By contrast Six Flags Over Texas operates year round due to its location. So far, no events such as HITP have been canceled and the new Giga-Dive is close to going vertical. Not sure why Great Adventure and other parks are having all these issues.

Touchdown:

Next year will be the first year I go to a park not in FL or CA in December, when I go to BGW in December, but I will also fully admit that trip would not be happening if I wasn’t also more interested in attending Colonial Williamsburg’s Grand Illumination and tagging on BGW to a weekend trip is just too easy not to do.

Grand Illumination is amazing. I did it a few years ago with my parents. The buildings all decorated for the holiday and then if you can add a dinner in one of the restaurants with reading the menus by candle is a great, fun time.

Seems like Georgia has canceled their Holiday in the Park as well.

Synergies!!!

Well they announced season passes for this year and Great Adventure came in with a cheap $79 base gold price with the all parks added if you buy before Sept 2.

I can't renew my pass through Great Adventure as the Great Adventure site is only allowing renewals for Great Adventure passes/memberships.

But I can do the Kings Dominion or Dorney renewal it isn't saying I need to activate at the park like the deal with Canada's Wonderland originally did.
