Six Flags Great Adventure announced today that they're adding a new 4D simulator, a Batman vs. Catwoman show, and major park enhancements including new theming, new animals for the safari (Monkey Island and anteaters), landscaping, restroom improvements, and much more for its 30th anniversary. The park opens April 3rd for the new season.

Hmmmm. SFWoA just got a shipment of anteaters a few weeks ago, I wonder if these anteaters were to be ours.

That's extremely possible unless they're somehow being use for Frontier City's new Petting Zoo (as well) we've heard so much about. =p

I'm interested in seeing what these new improvements are about. I've heard the park plans on opening with both sides of The Chiller and RT opening as well. Good for them if they do all of this!

Anteaters? Cool! The ones at DAK are awesome! The only problem with them is feeding them... The ones at DAK each eat 10000 fireants... a day!

Anyone remember the Anteater cartoon? Made by the same people who did the Pink Panther cartoons. Classic!

Of course I remember the Anteater cartoon...he was COOL.

To me, getting both sides of Chilla operational....and double-training both sides, perhaps...;), is the best rides improvement GAdv could have made...:)

I guess whatever animals remain from this announcement are going to Frontier City, or SFMW?

Of course, I still would like to see JJF end up running SOMEWHERE....maybe if they ship it to another park...;) Getting it out of the MIDDLE of the midway can't be a bad thing regardless of WHERE it winds up.

bill, still convinced that Tim Black took Pendulum to Chitown on a trailer behind his personal SUV....;)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

According to the article, it's actually only 3D. :P

And how does GAdv. have rights to a Nick character (Spongebob...)?

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

You're right Andy. Where was it that a new SpongeBob film was supposed to be in 4D?? Wild Adventure or something? Hmm.

Anyways, the two most exciting news point in this for me had to do with The Chiller and general park improvements. Should be a great anniversary year even without a major attraction coming in.

That's a very good question about SpongeBob. My guess is that the rights were sold and allowed to be used at non-competiting parks. There's really a whole mess of confusion about why certain movie or tv characters are at certain parks. It's such a fun show though, so I don't mind if its other places, but the variety will be appreciated by the travelling bunch. It's ok though since it will work on the local level.

The anteater was awesome, but if someone could help me with THIS stumper, I'd be forever in their gratitude.. Along with the Anteater cartoon, there was "The Inspector" with trusty aassistant "Dyoo Dyoo".. People seem to remember them, but ALSO in that same cartoon series was a shark cartoon..

No, not Jabberjaw..

He wore a top hat and had a Tuna named Charlie with him. The basic gist of the show was it would play Jaws music as he crept up on people and then the shark would pop out of the water and say "YeGOTCHA!" and scare the poop out of them.

Anyone remember this other than me???

And no, it's not Jabberjaw.

By the way Bill, is THAT Timberline Twister??

There`s a reason for mentioning it all of the time, got tired of hearing about the season passes at SFWoA issue when noone was understanding about what to do on the situation.

It's ok ACEAND1. I was just kidding around.

The release has been slightly updated with the SpongeBob information that wasn't included on there before.

Btw, I knew this was discussed on here somewhere, but how do you make something like "Updated GAdv Press Release" and have a clickable link for that? I know, I should probably know how to do that. ;)
