Great Adventure 5-10-02

Associated parks:
None

I got there at 10:30, got my pass in no time, hit medusa front row in 30 seconds and jumped on again, then waited 45 minutes for Nitro back seat, which was awesome. Batman the Ride was about an hour for back, which was also awesome. Scream Machine as always was boring and and painful. Rolling Thunder was entertaining in front and I got good airtime. I wanna warn everyone, DO NOT RIDE VIPER! This ride sucked 3 years ago and it sucks now, I got off with a bruise and cut on my shoulder because of its awful restraints. Just looking at the awful design of the track and the car's wheel base got me ready to get hurt. I got on Medusa and Nitro again, by that time the park completely emptied at about 5. I rode Batman:TR 8 times in a row, 6 without geting off and Nitro with a short wait before leaving early. I live close by and plan to go there again soon when the Chiller opens, but it was a good day, mainly because of 6 rides in a row on Batman.

Beware of the Viper's Bite. There is no antidote!(except for Tylenol)

dammit why do peoploe insult viper? i like viper, if you keep your head back and hold the restrains and keep yourself still it is a good ride!!
I like Viper to. It is a rough ride but it has never hurt me.

I've ridden Viper alot in the past and I never really liked it, and everyone comes off of it complaining about how much they hated it, an Impulse would fit perfectly in that space and take away the mid-day lines from Medusa.

I go to Great Adventure once every year and when my little brother wanted to go on it I told him that I heard it was rough so him and my Aunt when on it and my brother came off with a bruise on his shoulder... he also got a bruise from Manhattan Express so we stay away from Togo's and I am very glad I have never been on one:)

Please explain how you cut yourself riding a rollercoaster.

Wash away us all. Take us with the floods.

I don't really know, I think when Viper does its wierd rolling inversion after the first drop the car would jerk and keep jerking and the bag over the harness rubbed into my shoulder and cut it slightly and the final turn slammed me into the harness and bruised it.

I dont know how either, but like I said I remember he had a couple of scratches... oh well, I guess it depends on your height/size?

I use to think Viper wasent so bad either, but it has gotten really bad this season, but I still think it has an ok ride and I dont mind taking a spin on it ,but those shoulder hanrest really hurt, and even if you keep ur head back you will still get ur face knocked into them. I dont think it will be around in the next few seasons unless they change the trains, if they do that then i can see it being around another 6 or 7 seasons, but as of now its like they dont really care to invest any money to fix it as they did with the chiller. I think thats a clue that it will be gone in soon, but not too soon. On another note thou, They retracked the ending.
Why do people insult Viper? Because it sucks.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.
TOGO - Try Once, Get Off.
Cry me a river, then build a bridge and get over it, Vipers back!

Touch The Sky

I like Viper like I said on an earlier post but I agree that it is one of the roughest coasters I ever rode after riding it this season. I still ride it almost every time I go because when I get off my shoulders only hurt for about 5 minutes then I'm fine.
