greased lightning WHY?

Why did a park put in that ride isn't that kind of a ride old hat?, or am I missing something?
What in the heck are you talking about???

If you are referring to Greased Lightnin' from PGA, it was there since the park opened and is a classic coaster. Unfortunately it is being dismantled ( http://www.coasterbuzz.com/forum.aspx?mode=thread&TopicID=29139 ) and whichever park gets it is very lucky,

Or are you talking about the other Schwartzkopf looping shuttle, which is being installed at SFKK as Greezed Lightnin'? (Which actually is PGA's Greased Lightnin's "sibling" as it was installed at SFGAm at the same time in the same spot in the park as the parks were, at one time, identical.)

Either way, both rides are classics. Should no park put in a Cyclone-styled wood coaster, because it's "old hat"? I'd say, "Heck with that...Build it and I will come!"

First of all... what coaster nut WOULDN'T want a Schwarzkopf shuttle looper in their park? It's an outstanding thrill, takes up a very narrow footprint with a very simple concept.

Ask PGA fans if you're missing something. Actually ask them if they're missing something and WILL miss it.

I am not complaining, that's for sure! I loved Monte at Knott's so I am very pleased to have this nearby.

I suppose you could say it's 'old hat.' It's just a really awesome old hat.

Take a ride...

As a SFKK homer, I'm very pleased to be getting some "Schwartzkopf" love, old hat or not! :)

Pinball and Coasters...Any Questions?

Hey I wish White Lightening was still 5 miles from my front door. My only complaint about SFKK putting in Greased Lightening is that all that great swamp scenery from the SFOG Viper isn't going to be used. Don't you have swamps in Kentucky or is it all just Bluegrass haha

Right now, we don't have swamps or bluegrass, just an inch of ice covering everything!

We've had a very bad winter by Ky standards, and I imagine it put the SFKK construction behind somewhat. I've got my fingers crossed that Greezed Lightnin' will be up and running on opening day.

With the way the snow is melting here, and the Ohio River is rising, all of Louisville may be a swamp before long ;-)

Don't forget the Greezed Lightnin' at Astroworld, as well; perhaps the only reason I stayed at that park as long as I did. Those shuttle loops are amazing, and the launch more intense than any other I've been on that I can remember.

Don't knock it before you ride it, JDubs.

You are EXACTLY right. It is just like an old hat. You get those darned new hats and they are all stiff, and sure they look pretty cool, but they just don't feel *right.* That old hat, though, it just seems to fit perfectly on your head and it's so much more comfortable. So yes, old hat ;)

Hell, I'm happy to be getting *any* love at this point! :>)

And there sure are swamps today, not only with the ice and snow melting, plus the few inches of rain we've recieved the past 12 hours.

By the way, supports for the back spike have started to go up, maybe it will be ready on opening day.
