Grand Exposition Media Day (SDC)

Grand Exposition Media Day
This new area is awesome. Wonderful detail and great rides. The SDC folks did it again and really treated everyone at the media event exceptionally.

Here is the Grand Exposition part of Media Day. http://www.midwestinfoguide.com/media/expo/

It is also important to note that adults can ride all but 3 of the rides, and actually if they REALLY want to they can ride them as well.

The coaster is pretty fun and provides some good air time at a couple of spots as well as some Gs in the helix.

The Disk-O is a lot of fun and I love the way they have it tucked into the trees.

Everything (your pictures & the expansion) looks real good.

It loooks great. It reminds me of Dollywood's country fair area.

But nicer! The landscaping, shade and a consistent theme really make this area better than County Fair.

It's the same design team and they had a whole new section of real estate to use in the expansion. I like it better than Country Fair as well aesthetically. I think the DW ride mix is better.

SDC's area is awesome and Lisa and her crew do a great job with media days.

I was underwhelmed when I went last month (with the new area), but I did like the park as a whole.
Well you have to realize that the new area was not aimed at you thrillseekers. It was aimed at providing more opprotunities for families to ride rides together. The new area accomplishes that very well and does so in a beautiful new area.

Pete, I know Lisa and her crew are awesome. I especially like Crystal who is the one that I get to correspond the most with it seems. :)

I wasn't expecting something aimed at thrillseekers. I just thought it was a little weak to market it with "8 exiting new rides" or whatever the number was, when it was basically just something like Camp Snoopy, on a smaller scale. I did think the swings looked nice though, with the way it was painted and decorated.

Although I enjoyed SDC, I was a little surprised at the lack of rides (it was my first visit.) However, it was worth the price of admission to me just for the cave.

Apparently the main draw is the shows, or that is how it appeared to be.

Dollywood's still better than SDC..

Just yanking your chaindog Swoosh. ;)

Great pictures and thanks for posting them.

Jazma there was 10 new rides. 7 that you could ride and 3 new kid rides. I'm sorry that you did not enjoy yourself at the park due to the underwhelming nature of the lack of rides. The park is about atmosphere and yes the rides.

Thanks Danny.
