Goodbye Magic Mountain Sky Tower ?

Good Morning All,

I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend and I hope everyone got in some good coaster riding this weekend. I wanted just some opinions on something. I heard a rumor that the iconic Sky Tower at Six Flags Magic Mountain will be scrapped. Now understand thats one of the first things I saw everytime I came over that last stretch of road from the 405-5 highways heading towards my favorite theme park. To me, it would be like Six Flags Over Texas removing its Oil Derrick. Now that being said....The other part of that rumor is that a "polar coaster" will be taking its place. If the rumor holds true, it will be 8,175 long and 550' tall! Now, dont get me wrong, that sounds frigging awesome!!! But Im just feeling a bit dejected over taking out the Tower to put it up. Any thoughts on the issue ?

Are you MAN ENOUGH to ride this ride ?

You better ask the Lemon Chill guy for confirmation.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

That rumor has been floating around for at least ten years.

I heard 8,174 feet long. Gosh. People exaggerate too much.

If it helps, the Sky Tower was closed (for a change) when I was there earlier this week.

I heard from a full-time employee about a decade ago that Cedar Point was moving all parking off the peninsula and expanding new rides and attractions into the parking lot. They would build a monorail to take visitors to the main gate and the hotels. It hasn't happened yet.

Point being, I'll believe it when I see it. Don't get your panties in a bunch over it just yet.

that length / width ratio will make for one wiiiiiiide coaster. (Or one hell of a girth)

Yeah, but the hotels still weren't ready.

If Sochi needed hotels they'd already be finished.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

In Sochi, hotels finish you.
