'Good Year" tire falls from Top Thrill Dragster

ACC....apparently, both things (cable AND tire) happened, just at different times...

"pushing the envelope" means it sometimes *comes unglued*?

Alex, not a good idea to correct people when you yourself don't know the facts. As this is only your 15th post we will give you the benefit of the doubt.

Umm, i dont think a tire flew off. There was a news story about the TTD incident today on 13 ABC in Toledo. It was a cable that snapped at 7:30, not a tire that flew off at 11:30. Check out their online article about the incident.

And by the way, I love how you people hear rumors about something breaking, and come up with your own story like you were there. This story came from an accredited news agency, not someone who claims that they were at the park. FYI, TTD was not even running at 11:30, it was closed 4 hours earlier when the cable snapped. It did not reopen until today.

Let me just clarify by saying that the ride broke down LATE SUNDAY EVENING at 11:30 p.m., Alex. I was there. Are you implying I was on an acid trip the entire 2 hours I was waiting in line, watching the trains go by? I think you might be a little confused on your dates - a cable may have broken, but not on Sunday when I was in line.

And furthermore, I clearly saw the blue train, WITH tireS, cycle through the station prior to the incident. I have access to a picture to prove the tire came off the blue train.

Keep on quoting those stories from the Toledo ABC affiliate. I think we can all agree that's the horse's mouth....

And it was typed in bold and caps, too. Guess he gotcha there. Who cares what you saw walkin around the friggin park when it happened?

Alex:

I don't particularly care to provide you with anything. Furthermore, posting 1000 posts on any website does not entitle you to JACK SQUAT.

'Playa, I wanted to look at the sites you linked us to but couldn't get to any of them. The wheezing pimply coaster asthmatic???? Sounds like a recipe to disaster to me! You're right - you are one of the bigger jackasses on here!

Alex, this was posted in another thread,

Hey guys, Just wanted to tell you that SixFlagsNews.com has a pic of the train missing one wheel. Steve, the Webmaster of the site was there right when it happened and got a pic of the train missing one. Check it out. Thank god no one was hurt with this, or I dont think we'd evere ride Dragster for a while.

Hope this helps. Apparently, they've been having "train theme" problems. All I can tell you for sure, is that they removed the rest of themeing on the all the trains yesterday. Most of the train themeing was there at 9:30am, and gone by ride opening in the afternoon. I don't know the official reason, I just know that something happened to cause them to remove the themeing on the back part of the train. As far as the cable snapping, nobody is arguing that, as there is a thread on that subject too (which is wher the above came from).

I hate to burst your cocky know it all bubble Alexander but it happened. I was waiting in line around 11:30 that night and also witnessed it. I have pictures and will try to get them as soon as I get them developed. In the mean time dont talk unless you know what you are saying.
Ok, I just wanted to clear something up here. The tires had been taken off the trains for a few days before this incident happened, which is what some of you may have seen. They were put back on the trains on Saturday, and the tire fell off Sunday night. After that, everything was removed from the back of the trains. I would assume this is so they can work on better attaching the tires over in the Amazement Shop instead of trying to do it while everything is still on the trains.

I was on the train just ahead of the one that lost it's tire that night, and reported the incident on GTTP. While in the unload 2 spot in the station, I remember hearing a loud bang, but didn't think anything of it. Now I know that bang was the tire hitting something, presumably Iron Dragon's track or supports.

Rode TTD On thursday one of only a few trains to ever leave the station after well over a 5 hour down time. I was talking to ride op walking around the station and asked if the tire falling of was why they had removed the themeing off of the back of the trains. She replied as if that was a flat out lie asking where I had heard that bogus rumor from and I told here I had even seen a picture of the missing tire. She simply told me that maintence was removing the the themeing to make way for an extra seat (laugh now :P). I simply nodded and said thanks for the clairfication.
