Good Question about RCT 2

Does anyone know if we will be able to transfer the saved games and tracks from the first RCT to RCT 2?

Chris Sawyer probably knows. ;)

I tried to sign my name here but the ink didn't stay on the screen.

My guess is probly not. I dont think that the first games graphics are going to match the new one. also if they did transfer it the first games scenarios wouldn't look as good and they would lag alot.

Have you ever been to SFGAm and seen Deja Vu closed? If you have then go again and it WILL BE DEJA VU!

Sorry I couldn't hear you, The voices in my head are drowning you out.

I'm hoping there's some sort of conversion utility that allows you to convert an RCT1 save-game into an RCT2-loadable save-game.

But I haven't seen any indication of being able to load RCT1 files (save-game or tracks), convert them, or any other backward compatiblity statements, so we (the general public) just don't know at this point. We'll find out sometime in the next two months though!

And who knows, even if such a utility doesn't ship with the game, I'm sure someone will create one after the game ships... just like all the trainers out there. Or maybe such a utility will be available for download from the official site as a free add-on. Who knows. There's many ways this could go. But rest assured that I'm almost certain it'll be possible eventually! Though I couldn't count on being able to load "hacked" save-games with hacked-together rides and stuff. At least not via any *offical* conversion utility.

Good answer-No.

This is a totally NEW game.

Why wouldn't you? You can transfer them from CF to LL? This way, you can have roller coasters that you've saved before you got RCTII and put them in the next one! It seems pretty logical

I love Wicked Twister,
and Raptor too.

It is possible that it could happen. When Will Wright made SC2K, he included Sim City Classic saved game support. Ditto goes for SC2K files in SC3K, so, it's possilbe Chris Sawyer took a hint from him and will include it. So, being "a totally NEW game" doesn't matter. Wright has shown us that.
TrBiggar makes a good point. Even though RCT2 will be new and somewhat revolutionary, it is entirely possible we can pull in older coasters from RCT1. I would think that 2 will let you do that, but even if it doesn't... no big deal, just build it over again.
