Good News and Bad News. I need serious advice.

Being in a common car always helps. I almost wanted to get pulled over in Seattle when I had the black Prius. "Sorry, officer, I think you have the wrong black Prius, because every third car is a black Prius. The other two are Audis."

^This. Although you missed out, because nowadays it's a Tesla S around here, to compliment my Audi.

I'm chuckling as I type this because I'm starting to feel like you really are the anti-Gonch. We have such different experiences/outlooks that it's almost uncanny.

I wouldn't go that far. There are many times I agree with your stance. It's just that you're not going to know all the times I'm agreeing as clearly.

Police are human. Who would you pay more attention to cruising down the street, this 2014 Corvette Stingray or this Buick Enclave? Who would you predict would be more likely to speed? I imagine performance, luxury, and customized vehicles are all getting more attention by police.

I would love a Tesla, but even if I was banking seven figures, I don't know that I could ever really justify spending that much on a car. Then again, it would be like furthering the causes of Elon Musk, which I fully endorse.

Well, for me up to this point, it's all been good attention. Almost like, "Yeah, that's cool. I understand."

Whereas with the Nissan, I'm just a dick going too fast with his kids in the car.

I see what you're saying and it makes sense on paper, but my real world experience just hasn't worked that way. Hey! I'll take it.

I can't assume to know how policemen think, but I'll tell you how I do.

Your car and mine are meant to go that fast. They are designed to handle and maneuver well at high speeds.

I have more control of my car going 100 than I do in a van or truck doing the speed limit.

I'd like to think that they recognize that. If I were in law enforcement, the '93 Plymouth going 75 gets pulled over. The '10 Z going 90 does not.

The "speed limit" is nothing but a lowest common denominator.

I'll go with that.
