Goliath is a thief!

Funny story here.

Went to SFMM and forgot to leave my sunglasses in the car. At each ride, a friend with me offered to stow our glasses in his baggy shorts pockets. We got to Goliath and boarded when he asked if I wanted him to stow my glasses. "Nah, I'll hang on to them," I replied. Whiz Bang! We rode Goliath, another ultra-smooth ride on a California classic, and I STILL had my sunglasses on. I turned to my friend as the train came to a stop in the station and he began laughing uncontrollably. It seems that somewhere along the ride (probably the hi-G helix), one of the lenses popped out of my sunglasses!!!

WARNING: Hi G-forces on Goliath may damage sunglasses. :) lol

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I've traded in my 2000 Giovanola for a 2002 Arrow X4D :)
My other car is now an Arrow X4D!

Haven't had a similar experience but thats hilarious!!

DRACHEN FIRE WILL LIVE FOREVER!!!!
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
PS - We checked the ride photos afterward, and my sunglasses were intact at the bottom of the first drop (where they shoot the photo from), so it happened after that point. Even funnier was that I didnt realize that one eye was tinted and the other was open-air until my friend TOLD me.

Don't let markey hear that.  He'd probably turn it around and say it was a miracle you didn't have your eye ripped out by the force of the ride...  ;)
Goliath has eaten several pair of my glassess! I keep making the mistake of placing them in my shirt packet, and I lose them every time.

Have you ever considered that maybe it's not the park that's the problem, but YOU?
Almost lost some on-ride photos at CP on the Magnum. I had no one to hold them, so I put them behind my back and kind of under me... well.. bad choice! When I got out, I looked around and couldn't find it. My friend looked in the empty seat behind us and there it was! Pretty lucky eh? ;)

During my first ride on Goliath, I stowed my sunglasses in the lower pocket of my cargo shorts.  After an incredible ride, i reached in to pull them out and found that they had been broken into two pieces, right at the nose piece!  Despite the loss of $$, I couldn't help but laugh just like you guys did.  That's one powerful ride.

P.S.  One ride on X couldn't top that for some reason!

One time, a guy lost his credit card from his shirt pocket while riding Magnum.  But the funny part was he discovered it when looking at the on-ride photo.  You could see that his credit card had just flown out of his pocket and was in mid air as the picture was taken.  The good thing is, we knew exactly where to look for it! :)

LOL!  Very funny story.... I always put the camera or glasses in my underwear and the band keeps them in place.  Makes for an uncomfortable, but interesting ride....:)

Check out my website!
LOL! That's pretty funny. I always wear pants or shorts with big pockets when I go to amusement parks because I have glasses and I don't like wearing them when I'm riding. Superman: The Escape has my dollar...:(

You can't spell my hometown's name with out "Lame"! aLAMEda...:)
I'm so blind I'll hardly know if I am riding if I don't have my specs on.
i think that MDOmnis has the best story.

Where's the imfamous photo of the cigarettes in the air as the on-ride photo is being taken on Magnum? That hill can really launch you, and I've seen a couple of photos like that.

Sept. 11th 2001, Slayer released God Hates Us All. The song "Disciple" uncannily describes the events of that day, as well as the anthrax letters that followed.

Well, I lost the contact on my right eye on the drop of Goliath.  I had my hands up and all of a sudden my right eye went blind I felt my contact on my eyelash and tried to get it but it was already gone by then.  My on-ride photo looked like I was closing my eyes.  I decided not to buy it since I already have two on-ride photos from Goliath, but the whole experiece of losing my contact wasn't fun at all.  It really took away from the ride.  haha

I thought I lost my CD player after I got off of Viper but didn't check my pockets until about 10 minutes later, thank god. Also, my friend lost his keys (to his mom's brand new Toyota Avalon) on Viper last year. They found it later that night and we finally got to go home (it was well past closing time, 2 ish)

lol!

The dock was crowded at Titan one night and I didn't feel safe leaving my cell phone on dock with all those people there, so I put it in the lower zipper pocket of my cargo shorts.

Big mistake.

When I got off the ride, I needed to make a call, so I grabbed the phone and started dialing. It was then that I realized that somewhere along the ride the crystal in the phone had broken, and the LCD was now just a giant black splotch.

The FUNNIEST things happen to me on Goliath and Goliath only. And it seems like only things like these happen! One time when our train was coming up into the brake-run (my dad was sitting next to me with one of those souvenir bottles clipped to his pants) and after the train hit the brake run and cut off most of the speed, the bottle was GONE! Then we turn around after hearing suprised and laughing chatter in the rows/cars behind us and a man in his late 20s about 3-4 rows behind us had the bottle in his hands! The bottle must have popped up and flown backwards from the force and the guy caught it or the bottle landed in their car!
My brother and I were on Goliath, holding our hands up on the first drop, when all of the sudden, I see a pair of sunglasses fly off a man's head in the car ahead of us and fly, amazingly, right into my brother's right hand.  I mean RIGHT into it.  When we got off the ride, the guy got his sunglasses back without a scratch.  I s'pose he learned not to wear glasses on Goliath anymore, eh?

I don't have anything exactly like this but once when I was riding the Cyclone(Riverside), a few years ago, my sunglasses broke into about ten pieces.  Also when I was riding Apollo's Chariot that same year, right at the on-ride photo we were so weightless that all the change in my pockets became suspended above us.  It was really cool because in the photo you could see all this random change just in the air.
