Going to South Africa - Gold Reef City & Anaconda

In 8 1/2hours my plane takes off for the country where I was born & haven't been back for 11 1/2 years! I can't wait to ride Anaconda, the only Giovanola Inverted in the world. Will use up a whole roll of film taking photos of this creation. Plus will check out the rumors of a Dive Machine by the same company.

Anyone interested in a T.R & photos when I get back?

Take a ride on the shuttle coaster, The Golden Loop, they have at Gold Reef for me. It use to reside at Carowinds and was called White Lightnin'. It was my first ever coaster. I sure would like to see what she looks like these days.

Have a great time.

Thanks guys for the replies. Yup, I will ride Golden Loop as it will be the first time I've been on a Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop coaster. In fact I know the guy who installed the brakes & he told me it has a 40 ton weight that takes 5 mins to winch to the top!
I can't wait for pix and a TR. I want to see Anaconda Trains!!!
G'day mates,

I can't believe I've gone w/o the 'net for five whole days. This will be my only post for a while as it's slow going, I sure miss my cable modem! Am in Durban at the moment visiting my Grandmother which is the whole purpose of the trip. Leaving tomorrow for Johannesburg, will go to GRC 'round Tues or so.

The funfair with the first looping coaster I've been on is not here. It's a Schwarzkopf single looper, the same as BGT's Scorpion & called 'Looping Star.' I rode it in '85 when I was 6 years old. The very first coaster I've been on is gone, it was a kiddie/junior coaster in the beachfront amusement park. It went through dense palm trees & tropical shrubbery. At night the trees were shined on with multi-coloured lights like in JP @ IOA. I'll never forget it, it was awesome.

The amusement park is still there, has only spin 'n' puke rides - not my cup of tea. A hyper/gigacoaster along the beach would be terrific. The hotel I'm staying in is 30 stories tall, took a ride to the top, damn, Millennium Force is tall!!! :)

Gotta go, keep buzzing!

Kev.
