Going to PKD 6/20/02.. any info appreciated.

Hi all, I am finally getting a start on my coaster season by making a trip out to PKD.

I haven't been to the park before, so if anyone can give me a general idea of what coasters to hit first, what to save for the night and so on would really be appreciated.

I am under the impression that Hypersonic won't be up, but oh well.

Just any general comments on how to make the day productive would be great, I'd like to ride as many of the coasters there as I possibly can in one days time.

This is my first trip to anywhere besides my home park so I am anxiously awaiting the moment I come back so I can add more coasters to my tiny track record.

Thanks ahead of time to anyone with suggestions.

"La La La... at the DEMON! Blah blah blah blah at the DEMON! (I swear if I ever have to hear that song again..)

If Hypersonic is up go there first. If not I would ride Volcano and FOF while your over there. Avalanche and Anaconda are over that way too, so if you want to hit them while your over there, go ahead. Then walk towards the woodies ( near Hypersonic) and hit Shockwave on the way over there. Hit the woodies whenever the mood strikes you. The lines for them shouldn't be long at all, especially on a Thursday. Oh yeah, Ricochet is right between Hurler and Rebel Yell, so ride it when you want.

Have Fun!!!

"Nothin wrong with a little airtime"

Ok, first get to the park very early because this park is usually crowded during the day. You can get some coke cans that give you $4 off admission. First hit Volcano front seat because it is so awesome and you can see all the barrel rolls. Since FOF doesn't really get a line you can go on that whenever and any seat works for that ride. Next on the agenda is Anaconda, this is a cool looper and get the front seat for a great visuals but back seat for a fast ride. Ricochet usually has a long line for the kiddies so ride it at night when their bed time is due. Rebel Yell, Hurler, Grizzly, and Avalance almost never have lines but have a long queue you have to walk through. Get the back seat of all of these coasters because some of them have airtime. Don't forget the dodgems, I LOVE the dodgems! You can win Spongebob Squarepants at a water shooting game in congo so play that if you are a fan! If H:XLC is open, hit that first before it breaks down! O yeah if you ride the beserker (flipping pirate), listen to the moans as the lap bar comes down automatically LOL! Hope this works, have fun and don't miss a coaster.

Hypersonic where are you?

We were there last Friday (6/14) and if you have the kinds of crowds we had, you won't have much of a wait for anything. Hypersonic and Avalanche were down and Volcano had the longest line in the morning (everyone went there first). We walked past Volcano at 5 and it had about a 15 minute wait. Everything else was pretty much a walk one all day. We also must have hit the park on a bad day for the woodies. They all squeaked (GREASE people GREASE) and there was little to no air on any of them. :(

Volcano and FOF are both awesome coasters with great launches. Go there first, you'll probably returning several times throughout the day.

Advice on Anaconda: brace yourself for a little headbanging on the turns right after the midcourse brakes. It is a good coaster with that exception.

The woodies are all good, with Grizzly standing out among them. Hopefully you catch them on a nice day. Also, don't skip Scooby Doo's Ghoster Coaster. It may be small, but it is still fun.

Well, there's some good news for you.

I am under the impression after talking to Guest Services today at the park that Hypersonic: XLC will be open on either the 19th or the 20th, (Wednesday or Thursday). Also, something I've noticed ... for other people who visit the park regularly ...

The Scrambler is being dismantled and a wall is being constructed around it ... can somebody say Drop Tower???

Good luck though on getting on Hypersonic.
