Going Solo

I'm going to PKI in May for a Band Competition and PKI for the day with my friends.  Now, one of my friends is Lazy and is going with sombody else who is sigghhhh (lazy) and neither will run nor try to ride as many rides as possible.  And the rest either arn't going or have plans to play games and not ride at all.  Does anybody think it might be wise just to go solo for a few hours and meet up with my friends later so I can at least run to a lot of the rides and get more in or what?  Can anybody give me some advice on what to do.

Rent some cruches and get a handicaped exit pass and whip through all the lines.
IGGY, thats dirty. It's abusing the power... If you NEED cutches, do it, but otherwise, don't. It's immature and evil. That right is for the people who need it, not for those who want to get on rides right away.

I still have no signature.
Its not that bad going solo. I only go about 4 times a year to SFNE with somebody that I spend the whole day with. I don't see how you look stupid. And if you do, who cares. In the name of roller coasters, I don't care how I look;)

Riding without friends is just boring though!  At least to me it is.  Now in this case it may be ok cause u really have no other option.  I woudl go solo in this case.

Do not go solo!  Enjoy the day with your friends.  You will have more fun hanging with your friends.  I'm serious here.  PKI is meant to be enjoyed with friends and family.  If you go solo you will miss out on a lot of fun.  It isn't necessary to run from ride to ride and you'll look silly doing it.  Don't diss your friends.  Besides, by the time they get there, they may change their attitudes.
You don't look silly running from ride to ride w/ your friends. Oh, that brings fond memories of riding Twister (Huss Top Spin) @ SFNE 20 times in a row.;)

here is another plan rather then going solo... try to find a group 3 people and join them for a ride, as most coasters have 2 or 4 seats. After waiting in line with them you should be able to tell wether you can hang with them or not for a few rides.

This works well for a guy if he finds a group of 3 girls (uncommon, but not unheard of) or a boyfriend/girlfriend combination with a girl third wheel. or Visa Versa.

If you are going for a band competition this may not be hard to do, as I am sure there will be several more people there your age.

Just an idea

I try to go as many times as possible every year but seeing as how this is my first time this year, and it's on a Sat. opening season, I want to take as much in as I can.  As I said before, two of my friends that will ride arn't in great shape and just don't want to do much.  Would it be wise for the first 2-3 hours to hurry up and go to TR:TR and any other rides around Rivertown or Coney Mall area and just meet up with my friends at Action Zone in a few hours or so?

I play at 9:30 IN or 10:30 OH time and I still have get photo's taken before I go so I'll hopfully arrive at P(KI) by 11:00.  I agree FoF, I'll deffinitly try that plan of course TR:TR's gotta be first.

I ride alone almost 100% of the time. It's no big deal, and you can really meet some interesting people!
I don't see how riding alone makes people look stupid. I have done so many times in the past and have just as much fun riding solo as if I were riding with friends.  Perhaps those that thing solo riding is stupid always need friends to have a good time? Who knows?

Nick, I would just go off and ride by yourself for a while. IMO, it can't hurt a thing. At least you will be having a good time riding instead of just sitting around doing nothing much.

I definitely prefer going to parks with Jill (or with other friends, coaster-lovers or not), but I've gone several times alone and had a great time.  It's also fun talking with people, especially the old-timers at BGT keeping track of their laps...gotta LOVE that!
