PKI has updated the site with specs and construction photos. You now can understand why they were running Phantom Thearter so fast for its last days.

Thats cool how they are giving us some updates. I must have missed it though, what was said about why is was running so fast the last day? One more thing, I didn't know that they were using the same cars. These cars are going to get the guns right?

Those will be really cool rides. Will Delirium be indoors?

Where does it say why Phantom Theater was running so fast on its last days?

If you don't have anything nice to say don't say ANYTHING at all.

Delerium will be where it belongs-in the great outdoors. I can only imagine the wind whipping across your face, as you reach a height of 137ft.

So basically, Delirium is an Evolution style ride...?

Phantom Theater often sped up or slowed down, based upon needed capacity.

Scooby, While using the same ride system and basic layout has only half the ride vehicles of Phantom.

The last weekend of the ride it was run at near full speed just to see how loading and ride function would work.

Chuck, who knows they had problems loading every car when it was fast but now that there is half the cars, It shouldn't be a problem.

P.S. I think scores could differ greatly based upon how fast the ride is run so I hope they use a consistant speed.

Is it about coasters or friends? I say both!

Not exactly, it doesn't go upside down but "only" :-P swings 120 degrees. Think of Psyclone at PCW.

I'm sorry, Nothing on the PKI site mentioned anything about the speed of PT.

There was quite a bit of a debate here on CB over the rides speed back in July when it closed. When I saw the photo's of PT's DoomBuggies all decked out as Mystery Machines, it made more sense. Actually I was expecting mini Mystery Machines like at Paramount's Carowinds mounted on to the existing ride system of PT.

Lumpy, Im pretty sure it's presumed that the ride will run faster than it did normally as PT. It is using the same ride system, Just half the number of cars.

Chuck, who says Shaggy knows way more than I about it.

I understand that. I realized that when I rode PT the week it closed. When they only boarded every other one that last week, I knew then the Morgan ride system was going to be reutilized. I didn't figure on the DoomBuggies being reused though. I am not debating the speed here. I actually liked that fast final ride on PT.

I agree Shaggy has the "inside story".

I knew about them using the same cars but I thought they were going to chop the backs off. I think they would be better for this new theme to cut them down some.
Are there any sites to see the construction of delirium going up? I wanna see the height from a picture.

Well, if they are taking pics now, I'm sure they'll continue. I don't think there will be a webcam or anything like CP. Also, they haven't erected any of the supports yet. At least the last time I drove by Monday or Tuesday, no cranes or anything.

A one that is not cold, is hardly a one at all.

Will Delerium go entirely upside down?

Indiana Beach Guide

Jef Seibert told some of us at the Tomb Raider shoot, 2 weeks ago, that the parts for Delrium will arrive in early Janurary.

Cannonball READ it does not go upside down it said that atleast twice up there
PKI says this: "Imagine being caught in the heart of a storm, hurtling through the air out of control. One moment suspended upside down, the next moment rushing face-first toward the ground then nearly upside down again … all in seconds." and they also say this "Delirium is a powerful ride that will send 50 outward facing riders seated on a continuous ring with their legs dangling free in the air - spinning madly at the bottom of a giant arm that swings back and forth rocketing riders up to 137 feet in the air…more than thirteen thrilling stories! Riders will spiral in a 120-degree arc between 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock as the park races by on one of the most hair-raising escapades on the planet."

In CP terms that would translate to: It will not have an inversion.

In my terms: That is pretty darn close!

What is your take?

Sounds like a frisbee where you sit on the outside instead of the inside.

^^^^

It is...but much larger.
