GL's Thunderhawk to be repainted yellow and orange

Why does everyone hate CF's choice of paint. I've yet to see a bad looking ride, Silver Bullet's lift hill is a little odd, but it doesn't look bad. Bright colors draw crowds.
I didn't say I hated the colors. I said considering the theme, the name, and the area, the colors are wrong, and therefore detracting from the overall experience of the ride.

Put Silver Bullet in the Fiesta Village, give it a different theme and name, and the colors would be fine. Unless they called it the 'Blue Ocean Breeze.' ;)

orange and yellow.?.?.?
ah, yeah, I can see that. A Screaming orange and yellow, uh, Thunderhawk... :)

How about painting it gold... and while they're at it, painting Dorney's Thunderhawk gold as well. I miss those days of Dorney's "metallic" wood coaster.

I don't get why you're so insanely wound up about it, especially to the extent that it "detracts from the ride."

Some guys did it over on www.geaugaguide.com , it shows thunderhawk orange, and dominator blue.

Its here... www.gthrills.com
You guys should see some of the WWK pics I created and my 2005 GLWWK map I created.

Anyway, I think it's a good move. And Jon is right, when you walk in to the front gate of GL, right in front of you is americana, thunderhawk and dominator in the skyline. With those bright colors going on it, its gonna stick out alot more when you first enter the park.

So what if its orange and yellow. Personally, I think that its a refreshing change for the coaster. I love the colors on iron dragon. And now an SLC will have it.

Probably the only SLC out there with a bright color scheme. The ones I've seen either had the same green red yuck color, or the bland colors, teal, grey, etc. *** Edited 2/9/2005 4:06:06 PM UTC by lakecrystal***

Kong at SFMM is red and orange. Looks awful in my opinion, and Thunderhawk, if it's painted like ID will probably look the same ...

But hey, at least Thunderhawk's ridable unlike Kong ...

Wasn't Kong originally brown? If so, anything would be an improvement over that.
For those who were saying about GL's website having thunderhawk as the old colors, and what was the point in posting them, go over to CP's website.

Click on iron dragon under roller coasters, the first pic that comes up is of when it was still grey and red. even the ride video is of the same.

So seeing that they have had a whole season to take new pics, where as GL hasn't even opened yet with the new paint scheme for the coaster, I think it says were gonna see the green and red on the site for a while.

Considering that Iron Dragon and Thunderhawk aren't close to being the most popular rides at their respective parks, I don't think that it matters.

Once again, Thunderhawk was the third most popular ride at Geauga Lake this last summer.

Why do people say that? Iron Dragon may not have much of a wait, but even on moderate days it doesn't have a lot of empty seats. Just because they don't have to stay open an hour after close doesn't mean it's not popular.

Kong at SFMW was originally Orange track with Brown supports. For the 2001 season, they repainted the supports a light tan color. It looks good IMO, but maybe I'm just use to it.
