With a 110-foot freefall drop at a beyond-vertical 102.3 degrees and three disorienting inversions, Defiance, a new roller coaster coming next summer to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, would be plenty thrilling regardless of its location. It will straddle Iron Mountain, some 1,300 feet above the town and the Colorado River.

Sucks?
No, this actually looks really awesome, after riding enough rides many of them start to fall into similar buckets and small details stand out on the really stellar rides.
1300 foot hilltop is definitely no small detail and this will probably be a neat experience.
If one had to come up with a shortcoming here it would be the length. (Yes, I heard it)
But the placement is everything and this quirky and unique park will absolutely benefit by this ride.
Other rides in a similar vein include(d) the now defunct Red Devil at Ghost Town, the always visually thrilling Wildfire at SDC, and Wild Eagle that extended its reach to a hill top. It’s a good idea if you’ve got it to use.
