Girl Dies at Sfgam on raging bull

I was just watching the news and a segment came on. It was about some 11 year old girl dying on raging bull. she choked on apiece of candy

When did this happen? Today?

well.......Again it proves that anybody who dies on a coaster is the persons fault not the coaster. That is sad though...

I can see Markey's next campaign now: "Either Roller Coasters should close, or parks need to stop selling food. Roller coasters kill!" ;) If this is true, I feel horrible for the family; if its a hoax however, you're one sick minded fool...

I'm glad I never tried to eat anything on a coaster. The only thing I can see somebody trying to eat would be like a cream saver or some sort of hard candy.

The rule of No Food or Drink on the rides are there for a reason and while gum and candy doesn't seem like it would be a problem, everyone should be careful. I hope this isn't true, but it's very sad if it is.

Well someone who was at the park earlier today told me that they emptied the queue for Raging Bull...and then I see this post.

I'll wait for further news reports but that's so damn sad if it's true. :(

Is this the first ever death at SFGAm? I believe it is. And this is so bad, exspecially on opening day.

This is an extremely sad situation. But the girl should have never had candy in her mouth. Maybe she screamed while the candy was in her mouth, but the wind or something forced the candy into her trachea, but thats just theory. Remember, no food or drink on the ride!!!

I was going to go today, but I opted to go to my Grandma's instead to help her around the house. I don't know about you guys, but I learned the Hemlich in health class. Since Raging Bull only lasts 2min 30sec. I don't get how she couldn't have been saved.

Yea, I just saw the segment on the news also. They said she choked on a piece of candy. Also the night before someone drowned in a pool, I think the Sheraton, or one close to the park. The person came to Great America with their school, for band.

Actually, I've drank soda while riding a coaster. At Cedar Point last summer on Iron Dragon, they wouldn't let me put my souvenier cup on the platform, and told me I had to take it with me. The ride drags so much and is so slow, that I just got bored and took a few swigs. :)

I saw the Bull was down for a considerable amount of time today. That is very unlike the bull unless its bad weather. Thats too bad. I wondered why it wasn't up, but had no idea somone choked to death.

We'll get back to this when (and if) there's something in the mainstream news.
