Giovanola Clarifies Coasterbuilding Status....

I received this from Giovanola, apparently there are 2 companies using the
Giovanola name and therein lies the confusion.
**********************************************
This is from Giovanola Freres SA (GFSA) in Switzerland. We have been
following with interest and some amusement the Internet discussions
concerning our Company. We feel the time is now right to set the record
straight.
GFSA has been designing and building roller coasters and other equipment for
amusement parks for many years.
Our products have always been sold through other companies such as Intamin
and more recently Giovanola Amusement Rides Worldwide (GARW). GARW is a
completely separate company in which we hold no part.
As far as we, GFSA are concerned, there has been no change in our policy, we
still have the same top notch design and construction teams available to
design and build amusement park equipment for installation anywhere in the
world.
GFSA is not, and has no intention of being, a General Contractor and as such
has rarely, in the past, worked directly with the final customer.
However GFSA is ready and willing to work with any company that wishes to
use our expertise in the design and construction of amusement park
equipment.

And there you have it.

It's fun to be right. :)

Does anyone care?
Of course people care, Giovanola builds good roller coasters.

I never believed for a second GIO went out of business. :)
Yes, people care... Giovanola is definitely an up and coming designer, not that they haven't already came... That didn't make too much sense did it?

It does illustrate once and for all how so many "facts" distributed around the Internet are nothing but nonsense. And you wonder why I dropped the rumor section...

Agreed. Rumors are the weakest link....Ga-bye!
Rumors combined with a little wishful thinking perhaps? You know people always love to hear negative news.

Did GARW get out of "the business" so now GFSA has to go elsewhere for "middlemen" to sell their products. Always looking for work in the industry, and I certainly thought anyone could sell Goliath!

rollergator - intent on improving the "guest experience" - coming soon to a park near you
It's very nice to see this cleared up. Onwards with the tilt coaster!

I got that e-mail too.

www.geocities.com/coasting_ohio for Real/Defunct/mini coasters and parks for RCT
Does that mean MF is actually a Giovanola coaster & not an Intamin coaster? J/k :).

Yeah, GFSA is a huge steel company as seen on their site; www.giovanola.ch

The Taipan, Australia's most venomous snake - also the name of my model coaster in personal photo.
Yes! Sometimes it's instinctive to say "um, I don't think so" to something, and this was one of those rumors! When many of my coaster-mates claimed to have seen 'confirmations' of them pulling out, it was all I could do to keep my faith in Giovanola. It's so great to have all this momentum in the industry, and it's also nice to have a formal and intelligent reply!

Oh, and by the way, not to be mean, but Coastervince, you make me sick. I can't possibly imagine you meant that.

I was wondering how Giovanola could go out of business even though "they" just built Goliath and Titan in 2 years. I knew they didn't go out of business.

Don't Fight It: Ride It! Raging Bull
I'd be surprised if the thought of backing out crossed their mind. Anaconda is amazing, as is Goliath. Titan is their flagship coaster, and I'm sure it's even better than Goliath. With a tilt in the works for Belgium, I think they're going to get a quick reputation for amazing coasters! (like they don't already..)

I'm thinking the same thing. This true? Someone please answer, thanks.

BTW, underneath the wheel covers of Anaconda are stickers with the Giovanola name/logo as found on the GFSA site & the words 'Amusement Rides Worldwide' below - GARW.
I received the email, too. I'm Looking forward to seeing what they can do.
