Gillian's Funland of Sea Isle City, a 5-year-old amusement park that local officials hoped would attract families to the resort, is pulling out of Sea Isle City. Jay Gillian, who owns the park and the much larger Gillian's Wonderland Pier in Ocean City, said Hurricane Sandy-related damage and other factors prompted the closing in Sea Isle City.

The Sea Isle City Council president said the park had trouble with getting families with older children to visit.

I don't have the link but I remember when the park first opened, the owner had said they were purposely no major/thrilling rides because they didn't want to attract older kids and teens and were going to try to keep the focus of the park for families with younger kids. Maybe they should have tried to put a couple of thrill rides in the park. I know space was really limited there and something with a small footprint like a drop tower would have probably worked well.

If only they'd endorsed Christie, might have gotten some Sandy relief funds...

Too soon...?
