Oooooh, my freekin' head.... Too many G's Too many G's! No, no, Too much Beer before the G's!
Yes, I would ride, as long as it wasn't by B&M...
Of course I would!

Jack, who can't wait for Opening Day 2001...
depends on the designer. If its the originator of the Giga (Intamin) then no doubt

Best Coaster: Millennium Force
Worst Coaster: Project Stealth
Well, I don't know. The reason I enjoy hypers are that you are going that high with only a lap bar for protection. With a looper, you're all tucked into the train with the shoulder harness and can't really get that hyper coaster feeling. Also, Intamin is the faster of Hypers/Gigas and B&M is the master of loopers, so it would depend who designed it.
Sounds like fun to me.

SFNE 2001
Hopefully I'll have all the fun I can STAND!
Yes, I would ride it, as long as it was by B&M...
Just kidding, Everdred!!
I would ride it, though. I like 'em painfull; Ha Ha! As long as I'm pretty sure I won't die, I'll get on.

ATTENTION!!...This is the Alter Ego of Goliath Rocks; If he said something stupid, we're sorry, it's the "G"s talking...
No, and here's why. There are too many things to have problems with. At that speed, your head would absolutely smash the shoulder harnesses. Just like wooden coasters shouldn't venture above 150 feet, I don't think steel loopers should go above 170. Remember, the looper was on track for 200, after Viper, but when B&M introduced the relatively small Kumba, they started realizing that bigger wasn't necessarily better.
well i doubt that they would have you going through a loop at 92 miles per hour unless that is what you need to get through a 170 corckscrew but i doubt it. and if b&m made it you know that it would be so damn smooth that it would be almost impossible to get hurt!
If it were by togo than a definate no. Other companys maybe. The only designer I would trust with a shoulder harness and those speeds would be intamin. If it had a loop with just a lapbar it wouldnt matter who made it.
Of course I would ride it
I am pretty sure that if they did create a giga-looper... or whatever defination you want to call it...
They would not use horse collars for restraints. If Intamin's MF can have a 122 degree turn which is essentially a inversion, and use only a seatbelt & lap bar, then I am pretty sure they can pull off a loop, corkscrew, or zero-g roll with just a lap bar.
The G's themselves would hold you in.
As long as during the course of this giga-looper, the G's do NOT exceed 4G's, then I am pretty sure they can pull it off.
How do you keep it from reaching too many? You make 'em extra big! Tallest inversion, tallest corkscrew... and use the zero-g roll during the course when the train is only going around 45mph tops!!
It can & will be done...
Call it instinct, call it intuition, call it whatever you like... but they are coming up with new concepts each & every year.
I think that Intamin (or B&M) can come up with a giga looper that uses lap bars & not horse collars.
Everdread Said:Yes, I would ride, as long as it wasn't by B&M... Why don't you like B&M?
