Ghostrider: Better than ever!

Who says Cedar Fair can't maintain a wooden coaster.

Well as a few of you know already, after a brief slumber(down for maintanance), this baby has awaken with a new rage I haven't felt on this ride since it's opening season. The coaster ran a bit sluggish and rough earlier this year I felt. But whatever Knott's did, it worked beautifully.  I haven't laughed so hard on a coaster in a long time. Great job!

lol all they did was paint the station, no new work on the train
I rode the Ghostrider las year and 3 worlds...
I LOVE GHOSTRIDER!!!...that's an excelent ride, probably the best wooden coaster from the west, and certainly one of the best coasters I've ever been on...

In Mexico we say..."God Bless America"...too.

From what I understand, they also reprofiled the first turnaround and the final helix. They did a bit more than just paint the station. It's just tracking SO much better!

I have to get back to KBF.  Ghostrider is my personal favorite on my long list of coasters.  I wasn't aware that they were re-profiling, but hey.... as long as they didn't really take anything away that put the ride in rider.  Good to hear it is better than ever, though.

I'm going to ride after school tommorow.
I can't wait to get a ride on Ghostrider, it has been too long (read: 1 month) :)
As an employee I will also be looking for a ride on VertiGO!!
I can't wait!!

Reprofiled or retracked? "Reprofiled" hints that the shape of the hills was changed. (see Colossus, Rattler, Texas Cyclone) I hope you mean just retracked, GR has perfect hills, I would hate to see any of them changed.

"X" marks the spot in 2001!

Yeah, poor choice of words. Retracked is what  I meant. If you sit in the front seat you can see the new wood is a slightly lighter color. Boy is this ride flying right now!

GhostRider - my ONLY trip to KBF was last fall, jumped immediately to my top3-woodies list.  I am a woodie freak, and that ride ROCKED - must have gotten 20-25 circuits that day.  The swooping first turnaround has every other turnaround on virtually every other woodie beaten by a long ways.  Occasional retracking is MANDATORY on wooden coasters that have twister-type elements - I'm glad that CF learned from their "experience" with Mean Streak...

rollergator - intent on improving the "guest experience" - coming soon to a park near you

DWeaver....When was it retracked???   I was there in April and again on SEP 6 and it rocked both times. Does it get better?
Ghostrider is the only coaster that I would go out of my way for. Ranks #2 behind Millenium Force.

I went on Ghostrider about a month after it opened, then again last year. I don't feel any difference, it's still really great, but then maybe I just don't feel changes that well.

What do you mean, Knotts is my home park, but I do like SFMM better

Sfmm15.....
If you are anywhere near Knotts, GO!
I live in Phoenix and went to SFMM last month. We left at 2:30pm and headed to Knotts for GhotRider alone. They have an after 4PM price of $15. They closed at 6PM the day we went, but we rode all coasters once, Supreme Screme, 1 flat ride and Ghostrider FIVE times in 2 hrs. Well worth the drive and $15 price. NOTE: I have a Cedar Point Season Pass that is good at Knotts so my admission was free anyway. 3 words that describe GhostRider: OUT OF CONTROL!

I go afterschool to Knotts maybe once per week and usually only stay for an hour.
Yesterday, I didn't even stay for an hour and went on
Ghostrider twice (walk up to front car)
(almost back row)
Log Ride!
Supreme Scream twice without getting off...
Plus messed around and talked for a while..
This was about 50 minutes in the park!
