Ghostrider / Timber Mtn Flume "News"

Ghostrider is now closed for bi-annual maintenance. It is scheduled to reopen just before the Solace event.

Also, with the closing of Kingdom of the Dinosaurs the park has moved so of the ride's theme elements and effects [growling wolves, moon & stars] and spruced up the flume. It looks fantastic and more work is in progress.

Great news, and thanks for leting me know not to go next weekend for my GhostRider fix. :)
Ghostrider certainly needed a serious rehab this year. The ride has it's roughest winter season so far...
Yeah that's a great story Mammooshhh....serioously.

Can't wait to get out there sometime this year!! Yeah good times.

OMG I have a new sig!!!
And I'm going to be there next week, too. Oh well -- it was pretty rough last time I was there, so I guess it needed it.

I believe Ghostrider is suposed to be down for 2 weeks. ;)

Knotts is open 353 days a year. Ghostrider typically runs at least 300 of those days. That makes it the most-operated woody I can think of. Is it any wonder that twice a year, just before maintenance, the ride is a bit rough?
As long as it is ready for Solace, then all is good!

Of course it'll be ready for Solace. Ghostrider is *always* fresh out of rehab for Solace.

Moosh, Gwazi (kinda) runs that much....if you add up the days that Lion runs and add in the days that Tiger runs, it probably works out to be even a little MORE than Ghostie...;)

Ghostrider, for me, is far and away the best wood in the chain...and one of the best *chain woodies* in existence. :)

Timber Mountain....don't tell the IoA peeps I said this....has the best THEMING of any log flume ride I've done. The ride itself is lackluster, SFMM has the good RIDE flume(s), but KBF themed theirs out *to the nines*...

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Bi-annual? I knew it is closed for two weeks in Feb for maintenance, but what other time of the year is it closed?

Just before Haunt.
Note taken. Thanks Moosh!
KotD is gone?????
Damn, I'm glad I got a ride in.

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

Okay, so for those who don't know when Solace is, when is it?

I'm going to the left coast for the first time since '80. I'll be hitting Knott's around the 25th of the month. Any chance? :(

Gator, from what I hear about Gwazi I doubt either track runs as much as Ghostrider, both combined maybe, but that is probably your point isn't it. ;)

SFMM has good flumes? Are you talking about their lumber themed bobsled ride? ;) I thought I saw the dead horse twitch. ;)

I like that SFMM's log flume is in an authentic forest. Thats about all it has going for it.

kpjb - Solace is March 12th this year.

As for SFMM's flume - after hearing some insider stories this weekend about the lack of upkeep on the ride you won't find me riding it. Scary, scary stuff!
