Geoff Morrel out as Disney comms chief after only a few months

The Walt Disney Company is parting ways with Geoff Morrell, its head of corporate affairs, after a series of public relations debacles. Morrell was ousted after a bruising period in which Disney CEO Bob Chapek was faulted for his stumbling response to Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” laws. Disney said Morell is “leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.”

This is also the guy who ousted some Guardians coaster stuff, including the opening date, before they were ready. All-pro, that one. 🤦‍♂️

I didn't catch that he was that guy. There are a few iron clad rules in Comms/Lobbying, and one of them is don't let the cat out of the bag, even if everyone already knows it.

(I'm not sure how much blame he or anyone can be given related to governor dipsh*t) although if you're the gov relations guy, that situation is Florida can't be good thing on your progress review.

Thanks to his post I snagged a May 27 Epcot reservation long before the official announcement and subsequent immediate Epcot sellout
