Geneva-on-the-Lake

Does anyone think that Erie View Park can really turn around and invest in some new attractions? Do you think they can build a wooden coaster? -Maybe not within the park, but somewhere withing the strip of Geneva-on-the-Lake. Possibly try to turn the park into the Myrtle Beach Pavilion of the North.

Feeling down? Ride a roller coaster to bring you up!

I don't know? How much land do they have?

A wood coaster could be just too tight. I don't think they would have any room for that. Plus, though popular, that park really doesn't make "that" much money. A wild mouse would be a much better option.
Somewhere on the strip. There are a couple closed down motels around there if I remember correctly. I really wouldn't like to see that place get modernized too much since teh whole town feels frozen in time in the 1950s. I think this is the same park that tore down there old ballroom in the mid 1990s for space.

A wild mouse is a good idea john peck. The park has great potential. They could buy the run down buildings across the street and build the new wooden coaster in that lot. The original park property can be renovated. They can stretch it all the way down to that farily new go-cart and bumper boat fun park. The possiblities are endless. Erie View Park can turn into the Myrtle Beach Pavilion of the North. Sorry about all the enthusiasm and excitiement, but someone with $$$$ needs to buy this park before it is leveled off. The park is in desperate need of repair. At least the dark ride is getting a make over.

That would be sweet, concidering my aunt and uncle own the "sports center" arcade across from erieview park. God I love it there, and a woodie or wildmouse would make it better :)

Just think about it everyone. What if you can really get a good firm to invest some hard cash into that park. It would clean up the strip. I think they need to take it easy with the motorcycles.

I would love for them to get an adult-sized roller coaster of some kind. My friend's family owns a cottage just down the street from Erieview Park heading towards Ashtabula Harbor. That would be something nice to do, just take a 5 minute drive to ride a roller coaster if we get bored of riding the jet ski! And John, a Wild Mouse is a great idea, considering how much we love them, but hopefully it is a Mack just because IMHO I find them more intense than Maurer Sohne mice.

We should start a petition!

I noticed a nice empty plot of land in the back right hand corner of the park last year and said to myself, hmmm, nice place for a Wild Mouse.

Lori - who hopes Koaster King is reading. ;)

Do they still have Fascination there?

"How do you own disorder?"

Dan, yes the Fascination house is still going strong. On my visit last year, the place was pretty busy and the competitions were pretty intense! I ended up winning about 6 coupons, which I believe was good for a Def Leppard button! :)

We should all schedule a meeting together some time in the spring. We can all take a trip to Erie View Park and generate more ideas! Beam me up!

Are you a Traficant fan by any chance? :)

Anyway, there is nothing stopping someone from buying a vacant building near the strip and removing it for a ride.

That Fascination Parlor is great. When I was up there a few years ago the park seemed to have a comfortable feel to it. Not in pristine condition, but it wasn't to the point of being an eyesore. I think the empty lot loriu is talking about is the spot where the ballroom stood.

He was the BEST damn US Congressman ever! Traficant will always be remembered for his unusual, yet legendary leadership of the Mahoning Valley! ;-)

I am a huge Traficant fan myself. Just reading his material, it all made sense.

Anyway, how is Erieview laid out? Is it on the lake side of the strip? I was under the impression that you had lake, road, Erieview, ballroom (looking from overhead down).

Or is it lake, ballroom, Erieview, road.

It's been a while, maybe I'll head up there on my way to Conneaut.

I think when I build "Kyle Park," I'll dedicate a ride to Jim Traficant!

Erie View Park is on the Lake side of the road. The ballroom was torn down years ago, it's just an empty lot now.
