The Big Dipper went into operation in 1925, and was one of more than 60 coasters designed by John A. Miller, a native of Illinois, who lived from 1872 to 1941. Its original name was the Skyrocket, which was changed to the Clipper in the 1950s and the Big Dipper in 1969.

I visited Geauga Lake a couple times during the 70's, and I don't remember a double down on Blue Streak. Then again, I doubt I knew what a 'double down' was back then.
Double down when you have 10 or 11 and the dealer is showing 4, 5 or 6.
...or something like that. :)

Gosh, thanks RGB. ;) The sad thing is I had to watch it from beginning to end. It's so catchy. But I just found something else about the song that bothers me: the lyrics 'working up a appetite'. Egad.
Other than that, the song just makes me feel icky and I hate that it's so damn catchy.
I wonder how they make that skyrocket sound with 2 acoustic guitars. And there's a guy in the audience that looks a lot like gator. He must have gotten into the wayback machine again.
^Billy Pilgrim has come unstuck in time....yet again! ;)
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
You know, gator, I think you and I are the only ones who ever make Kurt Vonnegut references around here... ;)

Before posting that, I thought "it is a little early in the day for Vonnegut...but it's a Friday, so what the heck."
Now I'm going to go "take a leak".....er, I mean, steal a mirror. ;)
Oh, and since we're already on Vonnegut, and name-changing, from now on I wish to be called "Poppyseed-37". :)
You're a 37 too? That's amazing! My name is really "Coral-37". We must belong to the same wampeter! Bokonon would be so proud of us...
Hi ho. Pass the ice-nine.
