GASM at SFGADv

Derrick; stop making up information. Viper never has a line, and GASM barely gets one on a weekend. I've been there at least 25 times, and neither have ever had a long line.

I rode Scream Machine twice this past summer, and in the words of Simon Cowell, it was dreadful. The front was alright, but the back caused me severe pain. Back in 91' I remember a much smoother ride. I remember complaining that it was too much like riding in your car. Without the brake going into the first loop, I would grey-out so hard by the time I hit the mid-course. I actually preferred Rolling Thunder. My how times have changed.

The only one of the three that I've ridden was GASM. Not coincidentally, the strongest gray-out moment I've ever experienced was on that hunk-o-junk (I mean that in the kindest, sincerest, IN MY OWN OPINION way, of course ;) )

How, you ask? Take a 90 degree day, an hour wait, and the headbanging, and roll them all up with what was in retrospect probably a low blood sugar, and I was hurting...

peace, love, coasters.

im an arrow fan to the core, and even i will confess that GASM has its really bad days. however, it is nowhere near as awesome as Drachen Fire was....flame me all you want, but its still my favourite Arrow looper i have yet to ride, out of nearly 10 arrow loopers....

RIP my beloved Drachen Fire :(

p.s. i havnt ridden Tennessee Tornado yet....so that whole #1 Arrow thing is still wide open, per what ive been told about TT :)

proud PKD homer :)
(currently a Dorney Park homer though...thanks to college:))

I think I had an "out-of-body" experience when I rode Viper.

I just don't remember anything. The only thing I remember is an awsome first drop and a horrible jerk at the bottom of it (back seat).

Other than that, I seriously don't remember the loops.

I was probably knocked unconcious.

I have been on it this past summer. It's better than I remembered it to be. The Gs going into the first loop are nice. It's a nice classic coaster that is a must ride.

Right there with ya, vacoasterfreak. Call me weird for loving Drachen Fire...I prefer to think of myself as...not a wuss. :)

Take a ride...

25+ trips to the park just last season alone. Every trip I made it a point to ride GASM. First, it does have good and bad days. However, the blue train was by far the best of the three with red being the worst. Yes, there is a VERY noticable difference between the 3 trains. Also, depending on the weather and the crowds, GASM could get a line. I guess those of you saying it was always a walk on were lucky. The same goes for Viper. There were many times that the line went around the corner into the themed areas for Viper. That is about a 45+ minute wait from there because of its poor capicity. Finally, GASM is much rougher if the train is empty. Make sure you ride with a full train for the best ride.

You were, what, ten years max when you rode Drachen Fire? Don't worry, we were all young and stupid at one time. ;-)

LOL, about that. Then again my head barely touched the OSTR's, and I was hardly tall enough to ride it. It was still a great ride, I remember that first drop as if I rode it yesterday *sigh* (Americas Greatest Roller Coaster Thrills video helps too ;) )
