Galaxyland

I just got back from Galaxyland and it was a great time.

I arrived at the park at about 4pm and quickly used my 50% discount to by a wristband. All rides were running except the Drop of Doom (see below), and the park was pretty much deserted despite the rest of the mall being packed. Well on to the rides.

The Mindbender was running very fast, and without trims, this resulted in a very high g, painful, and air filled ride. The pain can mostly be attributed to the strange accordian style shoulder harnesses which do nothing but get tighter and tighter as the ride progresses (by the end my shoulders with black and blue).

Autosled was the same as usual....boring, yet fun in a weird way. The hard lap bars have been covered in nice soft padding, and the lift seems to be faster than in the past, other than that the ride was the same.

I also rode most of the flats, and even took a picture of the shooting gallery (advice found on coasterbuzz), boy did that ever wake up the employee working the booth.

Also, the drop of doom is gone. There was a big hole in the side of Galaxyland and parts of Drop of Doom were strun about the parking lot. I went outside and got photos of the "chunks of doom" and even found some cool parts of the ride to keep (they were outside of the fence, in the general lot).

There were signs indicating that the drop of doom will be replaced with..... A S&S space shot.

Overall it was a very interesting trip, here are some photos.
