GADV in April

So my friends and I decided we would take a trip down to SFGAdv in two weeks and I was just wondering how the crowds usually are. It's going to be on April 8th which is a Saturday so I figured it would be more crowded because it's a weekend. We're really excited to ride KK and I was also wondering if it was running well towards the end of the 2005 season??? Thanks.

I went to GAdv at the beginning of October and KK was running great. We only had to wait twenty minutes for it too. :) Unfortunately, I doubt El Toro will be open in April or even May for that matter. :(

I don't think it will be bad that weekend. Most people are going opening weekend (the people who have been counting the days until the park opens and all the free ticket giveaway people), and usually April isn't that crowded anyway. Other than Superman and Kingda Ka (if it's running), the waits shouldn't be too bad (probably no more than 20 - 30 minutes for most rides)
If the waits for the coasters at SFGAdv were only 20-30 minutes any time I ever went, I just might have different feelings about the place. I always try to go when I do not think they are going to be very busy and I get 60-120 minute waits. I hope your luck is better than mine.

Have a great time, and I hope that you get to ride KK unlike me. They do have some fun coasters.

^The best time to go is certainly April or early May before all the kids get out of school. Of course, you should try to avoid Thursdays or Fridays as that tends to be the day for school trips. ;) (even then it's not usually THAT bad, but if you're like me you HATE going to the park when thousands of matching shirt kids are running around being obnoxious...or even worse, cheering)
Well thank you all very much. I haven't been to the park since 1999 which was when Medusa first opened. I'm really looking forward to riding Kingda Ka. I hope it's running well. Did anybody notice it having mechanical problems towards the end of the season last year, or was it fairly reliable?
Just remember, if you're going in April, dress in layers. It can get cold there in early April.

Here's To Shorter Lines & Longer Trip Reports!

Even though crowds may be light, the park may also only be half open due to lack of park employees. Don't expect to be able to ride everything the park has to offer. Just a warning.

I wish it were not so.

I wouldnt go down and expect kk to be open during april. I would rather be wrong but dont bet on it being open.
Last time I went in April I was treated to no crowds and no waits. All the coasters were opened even Viper, but a lot of the flat rides weren't do to lack of staff. Its hard to say if Ka will be open, but its definatlely worth the trip. I am sure you'll get your moneys worth that day without having to buy a Qbot.
GAdv does try to run all the coasters, that are mechanically ready, and if they are short staffed they will close flats. Waits in April/early May are not as bad as mid-summer weekends. Kingda Ka was running reliably at the end of last season. Here's to hoping it has a very good season this season, but we all know Top Thrill Dragster has issues every now and then so if it is down just soak in the rest of what GAdv has to offer.

Watch the tram car please....
They've been testing KK so I'm guessing that it's going to be open.

Well if Six Flags is trying to work harder and really make guests happy at SFGAdv, then I would think that a major goal would be to keep KK open and reliable for as long as possible. Yes, Im expecting a break down here or there because I have seen it happen to TTD when I go to CP but this would really make my season if I could ride KK.
