FYI: New Hershey coaster animation

Not really BIG news, but a second animation has been added to the hersheypa.com website that announces the new coaster. It's mostly an expanded version of the first one that shows some 3rd person shots of the various elements in addition to the original POV footage, giving a better idea of what all of those convoluted elements look like to the non-rider.

I don't believe that anyone pointed this out, but the animations look a lot like the work of the Badnitrus guys... does anyone know if this is true?

That snake dive thing looks amazing!

This looks like it'll be an awesome ride, but some of the elements don't look exactly pretty from the offride shots.

Rob-

Definitely not my work... the 3rd person shots are cool but only because they used video background to make it look more realistic... there aren't even any shadows... The POV is pretty bad though... Once again, it looks like I'll have to make my own!! :)

It seems that Intamin/Stengel are about to add new elements or variations to every new ride since EGF!

The snake dive will be fun, but the drop from the zero-g roll seems to be the most amazing part in my book. This looks just insane and shows what the Stengel office is capable of since they mastered the "spline function track bending" to perfection.

I am not a big fan of Intamins zero-g roll (you really do need OTSR) but they way they lead it over a hill and down again will be a sensational thrill.

If only we could get something equal in europe.

I admit that they are a little crude, but I was thinking that Hershey might have "rushed" them so that they would be available for the press release. Sorry for the mistake, although I'm happy to hear that one from you might be coming our way!

After the first top hat, It's pretty ugly! THey deffinetely need to smoothe it out a bit before the start construction
Looks like theres a pretty nice headchopper goin up into that snake dive part.

What amazes me is that Stengal designs both the Beemers and the Intamins yet we end up with such vast differences.

One thing I am confused about...the restraints are they overhead like corkscrew or are they similar to top thrill dragster? And the coaster i dont know how they will get an overhead on a coaster like MFs or TTDs...and last but not least is the launch going to be like TTD but not as fast?
***scuse me a few things i am confused about***
They will be overhead restraints with trains just like these which by all accounts are very comfy and do not headbang in the least. Also teh trains themselves are the same as those on Millennium Force except for the restraints.

And the launch will be hydraulic just like Dragster's.

Does anyone else find the last part of the ride a bit awkward?

"You know its a good ride when you come into the final brake run wiping tears from your eyes."

I think the last part looks absolutely incredible myself. Just think of it as a double up with a twist in it and hopefully the accompanying air will be nice to boot.

I'm interested to see how Intamin deals with the minor problem found on Collosus's trains. It turns out that people were able to stick there legs out the sides of the train resulting in a small metal panel to be added. (See here and here.) It looks like a pain during loading, so I'm curious to see if a better solution will be implemented?

It seems like an overhanging lip ala the hypers would work well to solve that problem.

I never realized those were just intamin invert seats plopped down on the train for all intents and purposes before. Thanks for the pictures Drew.

This looks to ahve a great layout, but I can never get too excited about a ride with shoulder harnesses. I think the innovative track layout will make up for the restricting harnesses.

"You're a rabid anti-dentite"

The OTSRs look like a must. The train goes through some of those elements so slow that it will create massive hangtime. The GP wouldn't like that with lapbars. And of course the GP rule before us.

I'm confused about the location of the ride. Can anyone tell me where the station and launch run are going to be?
