Here is what I think should happen to Michigan's Adventure in the next 6 years.
2014: New Thrill Ride (Drop Tower)
2015: New Coaster (Premier Launched Coaster)
2016: New Waterslide (Trap Door Slide)
2017: New Thrill Ride (S&S Screamin' Swing)
2018: New Waterslide (Proslide BehemothBOWL)
2019: New Family Ride (Don't Care What Type)
I could also see Mantis moving here if CP ever decides to get rid of it. (Although I don't like the ride).
I'd like to see Kings Island or Kings Dominion send FoF to MA. I don't see all this happening so fast. Michigan Adventures doesn't expand quickly at all. You can hear Timber-rider talk about that.
The ride size of Mi Adventure doesn't really need much expansion. The main reason people go to the park is the water park, not the ride park. Look at the lines for the top rides in the middle of the day in peak season. Timbers and Firehawk are about 15 minutes. Funnel of Fear, in the water park, will easily be over an hour. The continued expansion, as slow as it may be, should be on the water park. A Wildebeest of Mammoth water coaster would be a better expansion option. Look how well it worked for Splashin Safari. Wildebeest was so popular, they added Mammoth the NEXT YEAR.
Here's what I see for the future of Michigan's Adventure:
07/25/13: Tyler references it in a post in a thread about Steel Venom at Dorney.
07/26/13: Tyler references it in a post in a thread about existentialism.
07/27/13: Timber-Rider references it in a thread actually about it, with the comment specifically being geared towards how it was so crowded, parking is all the way back to the mid-point of the park's signature wooden coaster. Also, he alludes to how bad of an idea the beer garden was.
07/28/13: Tyler references it in a thread about a trip report discussing a recent visit of someone else to Knoebel's, then mentions how Robb Alvey is banning everyone who even mentions MiA. Oh, and everyone who questions the MiA acronym.
07/29/13: Tyler references it in a...
13 Boomerang, 9 SLC, and 8 B-TR clones
Why does the last one say 2012? Also, I haven't talked about MiA that much lately. Timber-Rider hasn't either because he is currently at Cedar Point (I think).
Here's what I see happening...
2014 to infinity:
Cedar Fair gives one of the most profitable parks in the chain the level of investment it needs to continue to be one of the most profitable parks in the chain.
Life is something that happens when you can't get to sleep.

Lol I cracked the f up at this!
Also, Michigan's Adventure will be essentially identical in 2020 to the way it is now.
I see 2014 being a year where Michigan's Adventure gets more threads devoted to it then its actual interest level dictates. Kind of like this year.
I'm sheriff of this here rollercoaster.
