Angola firefighter T.R. Hagerty didn't know what to expect when he was called out the Fun Spot Amusement Park on Saturday. Police said 12 riders were trapped on the Afterburner roller coaster. When Hagerty and the rest of the department arrived, they found the riders dangling upside down, 50 feet above the ground.

"The cause of the breakdown appears to be the failure of a seal for an air cylinder regulator, Zirkle said. The owner changed the seal and a cable that had become frayed because of the malfunction. The cable was not the cause of the incident."

The article also reported that there were 7 things which the start of year inspection team required to be changed in order to approve the ride. Doesn't that seem like a high number?

Anyone care to explain how an air cylinder regulator causes a ride to get stuck upside down?

Yeah, I don't understand the cause either. And the things they needed to fix upon inspection... I'm sorry, but those are not "normal" things to be wrong before an inspection. Tightening things and replacing missing nuts isn't something that should ever happen before you open a ride.
anyone know if this opened up again? I would like to visit the park this weekend (hopefully) on my way to MI adventure.
