I do however, have the occasional Thursday to blow if I neglect some of my responsibilities.
My question is, is it possible to hit Fun Spot and Indiana Beach in the same day?
Any input would be appreciated...
If I were in you shoes and decided to do this, I would reccomend showing up at Fun Spot upon opening and staying as long as you want to, then heading to IB. Fun Spot closes at 5:30 on Thu, Fri, and Sun, while IB is open until 7 or 11, depending on what Thu you go.
While any park, IMO, warrants a day visit, you could pack in the basics of what you would enjoy most with these two in one day.
Estimated drive time, From Monticello to Angola, is approx. 3 hrs if you like speed limits, and 2-2.5 if you don't.
These parks both are very nice to visit, and if you decide to visit either or both, be sure to E-mail me, it would be nice to meet up. My emai is Defend10@aol.com

Been there, done that, and I say go for it!
IB's 2 POP sessions are 11-6 and 4-11, but watch the schedule closely, because I think for that last part of August they only offer one session from 11-7(?). You can seriously do the Fun Spot and be completely satisfied in one to to hours, but be warned, the Afterburner (Arrow shuttle loop) doesn't open until noon...that is, if it decides it's going to work the day you're there (which it didn't for us :( )

It's 106 miles to Indiana Beach. We've got a full tank of gas and a half-full cooler of cokes. It's light, and we're wearing Disaster Transport 3-D glasses....hit it!

What is it Lassie? Did Timmy fall down the well again? Rough. Did Mr. Wilson have a heart attack? Rough. Is the drug dealer here for his money? Rough Rough. RUN!
James - do a search on C-buzz for Indiana Beach, there was another thread recently where people gave their suggestions on rides/attractions not to miss at the park. You might find it very helpful. FYI, if the decision was up to me, I'd skip Fun Spot and spend the entire day at IB. Its a wonderful park with a very cool, kitschy, retro vibe.
Have fun ;-)

The only thing I have to say about driving from FS to IB.... don't drive TOO fast ;)
Yes, both parks are doable, if you get bored at FS before Afterburner opens, go to the Arcade and play DDR. That kept me entertained for a while. Then the "Little Shuttle That Couldn't" did me in. Heck, they even sell Afterburner patches!! So I have a patch of a coaster I never rode :-P
Have fun at IB!! Try the Double Shot if you like intense power towers. And I agree with Arrow Guy, try the Den of Lost Theives. Good luck!!

Parks this year: 22
Beatings from Kara: 13
Also, I know I am insane, but part of the fun for me is the drive. It is like exploring new territory for me.

agreed, but if you drink any more of that "electric" lemonade, your vocabulary MAY be permanently *altered*.....;)....shoot, Den of Lost Thieves took me back to the "good old days" of Get Smart and I wasn't on anything NEAR that strong....
I loved IB, and hope to get back there SOON.....gotta get back to SFGAm soon too, and I *hope* to get to VF and Big Chief's on THAT trip....:)
Very easily doable. Afterburner is a great little ride . The two parks aren't more then an hour and a half apart if that.
Actually tomorrow I am planning a Shipshewana (Giant outdoor flea market) Indiana Beach trip. Fun fun

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)
