FUN CITY in Baghdad image

Exploring the world again, thanks to Google Earth, and while skirting my way across Baghdad, I spotted a plot of land and something that resembled a coaster. After further research (rcdb) I see that indeed there is a small amusement park there with what looks like a Zyklon or Galaxy.

I compiled the GE image along with another image I found of the coaster. There seems to be a lot of flats at this park, probably kiddie flats. Nevertheless, it's nice to know there is an amusement park there.

Any idea where in Baghdad this park is located? I'm stationed inside the aiport, and have never heard of any amusement park in Iraq.

All I can tell you is that it is north of the river. A landmark you look at on the Google Earth image of Baghdad, is a large looking green space
with a large circular building with 2 blue things on the roof. The amusement park is to the right of that. Good luck to you over there.

Well that doesn't help me out much since the tigris river flows north. Any way you can zoom out further and I might be able to tell where its at since I've been all over the city.

Well thanks, glad I'm getting that kind of feedback, even if its a lil off topic. I have seen pictures of that place before, but never knew what it was. While I still don't know where its at, I think if I were to look at the map I'd be able to find it. Too bad the only way I'd get to ride that coaster is in a flack vest and kevlar helmet lol.

Considering the likely state the coaster might be in, I'd suggest the vest and helmet even if peace broke out.... ;)

Looks like the park has a lot of space considering how spread out all the rides are. Pretty cool. And yeah, good luck to you over there!
