Here is a hypothetical question for ya'. (If it is an old or talked to death subject already, then I'm sorry.)
If you HAD TO CHOOSE, right now, for the rest of your coasting life, and had only these choices, Front Seat... or Back Seat. What do you choose and why? Remember, no front for this, this, and this, and back for that, that, and that... I mean for all coasters from now on. Don't forget this is just a hypothetical question.
I would have to say the front seat. There is something about having nothing in front of you but the track, the wind in yer face, and being the first one on the train to experience the ride.

Gotta ride 'em all!
Like life, there are no absolutes, just one big gray area.

Back. Call me sentimental but I have a love affair with speed. (Don't tell my wife.)
I got to go with front. Of the coasters I've been on, I've been in both front and back, and the front is definitely better.

Love em both. But if I were limited, the VIEW from the front would be my first choice.

Come on, Jeff. It's just a question...

Gotta ride 'em all!
I prefer the back because of the airtime on the initial first drop but I also like the front because of the feeling of controlling the train that you are on. I usually go with this feeling on woodies more than steel coasters. If you can puff your stomach out when ride ops check the lap bars thus giving a good 6 inches between your belly and lap bar to get great airtime than the back of the train is my choice. ""WHEN THE BUTTOCKS LEAVES THE SEAT DOWN THE FIRST HILL IT IS AN ADRENALINE RUSH!!!!!"
I love riding in the front, the wind in your face, the view of the track. It's especially great on riding an inverted coaster. There is nothing in front of you.
Front seat on hypers, inverteds and floorless coasters. For wooden coasters though, I'm purely a backseat rider. So, overall I'll take the front seat.
Front, however I prefer the back seat on Magnum. There is nothing like getting whipped over that first hill. But for life, i would have to choose the front.
I only recently started riding coasters in the front seat (my parents used to always aim for the middle). The front seat on an inverted is really nice with the wind in your face. Front seat on woodies (out & back style) gives floater air. HOWEVER, I prefer EJECTOR-air and there is no better place for that than the LAST SEAT!!! Also, it's fun to watch how many hands that are in the air going up the lift, franticly (sp) reach for the bars once you reach the top (heheheh)
Front seat on inverteds and floorless coasters. For wooden coasters and Hypers though, I'm purely a backseat rider.

Front for Me The view is the Best element a coaster could have.

I would choose front because "middle" or "shortest line" wasn't one of the choices. I like the view personally but I tend to go where the people arent.
I can't choose!!! Front gives the best view and the smoothest rides, but the back gives the best air time and positive g's.

Six Flags America IS a Six Flags park!
The front... you can't see anything in the back!

We are the ones who wait in line for hours for a 45-second thrill, and consider it time well spent.
I will have to go with the BACK!
1. NEG G's aka AIRTIME!!
2. ROUGHEST RIDE IMAGINABLE! {im a rough rider..
the rougher the better}
the roughest ride ive ever had was at pavilion in myrtle beach.. THE HURRICAN est 2000.. i sat in the back seat and there was NOBODY in the 3 rows infront of me!! I was in the air THE WHOLE TIME!!! SWEET!!
