Frisco, Texas residents express concerns over mini Universal theme park

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Several Frisco residents expressed concerns Tuesday night over the proposed Universal Studios theme park, including questions over crime and traffic. But Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney at a council meeting said the kids park isn't expected to bring similar crime issues as more adult-focused theme parks and that traffic is expected to be less than H-E-B, Costco and other developments along the Dallas North Tollway.

That's fair. You weren't that specific in your earlier post.

I’m not sure I mean to convey that Austin is the only blue dot in the state- just like I’m sure that Columbus isn’t the only blue dot in Ohio.
And I have plenty of good friends in Texas and my favorite band is from there.
I can even say that I’ve met people from West Virginia that I’m happy to know.
C’mon- y’all should know by now that RCMAC is rarely serious.
My honest and sincere apologies to anyone who’s offended.

When those with certain political beliefs can stop discriminating on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation and identity, etc., we can stop calling out political beliefs.

You're literally discriminating against ALL Texans, based on what you believe the opinion of only the majority of Texans to be.

It's worked for WDW for 51 years now

One thing that Mayes Disney successful is the large number of indoor attractions. Heat, cold or rain they can operate.

These regional parks outside of Florida that are going year round dint have the infrastructure for truly successful year round operations. They lack indoor attractions and theaters (except BGW does have the theaters).

IMO this is why these parks are attempting year round in a poor effort (short hours, not a lot of operating attractions etc). They aren’t built for year round

I don’t know how successful they will be but most successful business attempts Put the infrastructure in place for success. Instead of just crossing their fingers and hoping enough winter days will be 50°.

Check your facts, dude. I didn't say anything about Texans, and my comment was about politics in the general sense, regardless of where people live.

Though I should have carte blanche to talk about any state, because I live in Flori-duh.

For sure. I feel like a park such as Kings Dominion is better to just close for two and a half months after Winterfest rather than trying to attract guests with 5 hour operating days with few open rides and possible snow.

You're a fan of the Butthole Surfers too?
