Frisbies going upside down

I have heard all the rumors about PKI possibly getting a huss frisbie. When I was looking at the site i noticed that they didn't go upside down. I was just wondering if it was at all possible for them to make one that goes completly upside down ever? Or is this just far out hope.

I'm sure HUSS would be able to design a frisbee that goes upside down, but it doesn't matter, because Mondial is just hella better. ;) (though the Mondial version doesn't invert either)

Why have an inverting frisbee ride when all you gotta do is ride a swinging inverter ship such as PKD's Berzerker,if you ever ride it you'll soon change your mind about wanting an inverting frisbee ride that's for sure.

The swinging inverter ships have got the most painful restraint system ever created,(that is next to a vekoma SLC or Premire OTSR)and when that thing stops upsidedown it causes the worst pain imaginable on your shoulders as well as your chest, just take the ride for a spin and you'll see what I mean.

Yea, it swings to 120 degrees, good enough for me.

Is that 120 total (60 in each direction) or 120 in each direction?

I agree that the frisbee doesn't need to go upside down. The whole thrill of the ride is that "hanging in the air" sensation kind of like you get on the pirate ship, only more intense.

Does anyone know about the operation of HUSS frisbees? The one at SFNE never seems as intense as the first year that the put it in ('99, i think). Maybe I've just grown jaded to it, but it doesn't seem to give as intense a ride. Are there different intensity settings on the ride, like Top Spins?

I seem to remember it used to spin a bit in both directions, and then when it got up to full height it would go berzerk - spinning so fast that every seat on the ride would whip around the top before the car started swinging down again. But i also remember lots of people getting sick on the ride, so maybe SFNE decided to tune it down. Now I don't even really enjoy riding it.

Just some thoughts.

I recall a ride they had at the Rose Festival in Portland, OR about 3 summers ago. It had a circular passenger area and did invert, as well as rotate like a frisbee. I didn't ride it, but it did look like one heck of a ride. I have no idea who made it or what it was called, but it basically was an inverting frisbee. It looked too uncomfortable for my tastes, that is why I passed on the oportunity.
I have rode beserker at PKD and I enjoyed it, a lot more than a regular swinging ship like PKI has.

ApolloAndy - the 120* in both directions, or a total swing of 240*. Riders are not quite vertical.

Did it swing?

It sounds like like either a KMG Spin Out or a Soriani and Moser Top Star Tour. Edit: It could an Evolution, too. Duh. Good call, MMCoasterBear :)

For what it's worth, I think there are varied intensity settings for the Frisbee. Great Adventure's Frisbee is far more exciting that SFNE's, by my recollection.

I believe the ride you are describing is the one called "Evolution" - it has a circular passenger ride compartment at one end, four riders to a section (of which there are either 6 or 8), and the seats face outwards. As the 'pendulum arm' rotates around the center axis several times (doesn't swing), the passenger compartment also revolves. At the end of the ride the passenger compartment is at the top of the pendulum, with you upside down, and they usually flip the seats so that they face the ground - YIKES!! - while you're over a hundred feet in the air. Not one of my favorites flat rides, but I've been on it several times.

Yep, that's it. With a little reflection I do remember the ride being called Evolution at the fair. That might just be the fair name, but I think you hit it on the nose. And I also recall that it didn't swing like a frisbee, it's actions were more akin to the Aero 360 at KW and other rides of that ilk. It's great having all you knowledgable folks around.
I also liked Pendulum @ SFGAdv better than Tomahawk @ SFNE. It had a better, more intense ride cycle but didn't have as good of theming as Tomahawk.

Speaking of the Evolution, SFNE could use one...

I'd rather have rides that *run*, personally ;) It is nice to look at, though.
