Fried bats at the lake! Anyone try them?

Funny I just got back from LC recently and was gonna post about this very exact thing... they were definitly the best food i've ever had at a park... but oh so sickening at the same time, lol.

... one thing I still dont understand is the fried dough w/ pizza sauce, though....must be a new england thing?

Nah... I've seen the fried dough w/marinara in the midwest, too.
The first (and only) time I had them was at the Ephrata (PA) Fair. They give the funnel cake dough exactly what it is missing.

where are the oreos at kennywood....i was actually there a couple of days before compounce but never really found a good snack food intriguing enough to try......so where are they located there...?????

By the way imo compounce is prolly the most underrated park ever. its so small, quaint, beautiful, and is home to my new favorite woodie over phoenix & ghostie! i told myself if i ever lived anywhere other than ohio, itd be CT for the beauty and of course the Lake!

back on my own topic though, lol....we actually just decided to put our swimsuits on and spent the rest of our stay swimming off the calories from those oreos! so i didnt feel too bad after eating them, well atleast i didnt need a trip to the hospital ;)

Hey, you guys need to stop complaining about artery-clogging. I happen to be the child of a family nutririonist. And my mother has done a formula based study to show that fried oreos arent any more artery-clogging than a medium order of Frenchfried potatoes. I love those things. They are so good. Besides, its not your job to talk about them. If you dont want to eat them, then don't. Your loss.

On the seventh day, God created coasters!

All the sweet foods. Now I wonder why I still go to the gym, but have not lost any more weight since the season started! Its so worth the extra 20mins on the machine I ride at the gym for all these mins of my life! I have heard of frieds Oreo's.

I have a friend in school who works for his mother who owns food shops at fairs, fund raisers etc, and he told me about them.

*chants* Cheese on a stick! Cheese on a stick!!
Fried oreos are great, especially with stawberry topping....but I like CP's Cheese on a stick much better..especially the spicy cheese!!

Byt the way, I prefer Diet Vanilla Coke ;)

Elizabeth, im going to have to disagree with you about CP's cheese on the stick! It has to be one of the most disgusting variations of a park food that I love! Good thing the Deep Fried Oreos at Kennywood made up for it. Anyone who is reading this thread and hasnt tried some, you MUST! Sure, eating 6 probably wasnt a good idea, but like someone said, moderation is key! 5 shouldnt hurt =)

"AHHH!! Oh wait, we didnt drop yet"
I used to be a Cheese-on-a-stick, fanatic, but i really think that the cheese they have used the past few years sucks, it has no flavor whatsoever- the alternative is that my taste buds have finally grown up!

Beware of Kiddie Coasters

They've had them at the Dade COunty Fair for as long as I could remember, at the booths that sell fried oreos, fried twinkies, and several different fried candy bars. But I've never head the chance to try a fried pickle.

Ewwwww..........too much sugar for me. I will stick to the chili cheese fries, pizza and burgers (and a fried pickle...mmm).

I must be the only chick in the world that doesn't like sweets. lol. Diet Coke anyone? :-)

Usually the food at fairs are the best! If you guys ever pass by Ripley, WV during the first week of July (too late now) stop by the Arts & Crafts Fair. Enough food sampling and vendors to keep your arteries clogged for months. :-) My fave? The Gyros without a doubt. :-)

OR, if you are really daring stop by Camden Park and get a *floating* burger at the cafeteria, but please stay away from the various SpinNPukes for at least a half hour. :-)

I had them yesterday and I thought they were terrible. I honestly don't know what about them anyone would find appealing; I thought they were the most disgusting park food I've ever had.
