Freaky river rapid element

Looks really freaky... The best place for it would be inside a building, hiding it. That would scare alot of people including me. Wonder what company that would build the whole ride, Hafema or Intamin maybe?

Yeah, that would go well inside a building. It doesn't look too safe though...but I'm sure it is :)

it looks very Hafema in style to me. it also looks like it would give some great air time! i really want to see one of those. you could go over an old looking bridge and then collapse. looks great!

uh oh, sounds like someone has a case of the mondays.

The Popeye ride at IOA is the only rapids ride with any airtime at all I've been on. Halfway throught he ride there is a lift and then the boat takes a pretty steep drop into a VERY fast river sction.

This could be a good improvement to that drop on Pirates of the Carribean.

That looks dangerous...how exactly does it go down. do it actually tilt down the steep incline or does it just drop off the edge? that looks really fun thuogh

That looks like a sweet drop. I still can't get how it can just drop off the edge. That whole ride looks amazing though. Too bad parks on this side of the ocean do not do things like this(other than Disney and US).

Perilous Plunge's drop is pretty extreme, its honestly better than any coaster drop I've ever ridden (Xcelerator, Goliath, Desperado). And then Grizzly River run has its special spinning drops. Who makes the free fall one?

That looks fun. But dangerous, but i still would want to ride it.

Wouldn't that be sweet? If let's say the raft was hooked onto a moving turntable under water it could do that, and then you could have water spraying up in people's faces. Who's with me?!?

Yes, I do believe that is the Intamin "free fall" element for their rapids rides. Does anyone know if any of the other companies make these?

river quest is made by the insane people at hafema! http://www.hafema.de/ if you wanted to know

an idea i have had for river rapids for a while is boats that you can spin yourself. you pull the middle ring thing and the whole boat spins like a teacup ride (do you have them in the US?). would mean that you can turn the boat and get someone else soaking!
