Found a way to increase FPS

I have found a way to increase FPS, not by much, but some (5-15fps). Download a program such as spybot to remove all spyware and adware. Performance is somewhat better.

Well no kidding. Most of us don't have spyware to begin with.

Actually, I saw a report where an estimated 90% of computers have some sort of spy/ad-ware, even if the owner doesn't realize it.

As a matter of a fact, take a look at this:

"Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., said spyware was "quickly becoming one of the biggest threats to consumers on the Internet." She cited estimates that up to 90 percent of computers contain some forms of spyware. Lofgren said her daughter was recently victimized by electronic thieves in a phishing scam, persuading her in a forged e-mail to disclose personal information."

So, as long as 90% of computers constitutes most, then most of us DO have spyware.

That 90% figure includes identifying cookies which really aren't spyware per-se.

Who the hell has enough spyware on their PC to knock 15 FPS off of RCT3?

cwsr ;-)
cough Adaware cough. :)
Adaware is great for that kind of thing. I have about 80 spyware removers ever since I had over 1000 spyware files on my computer before i got it cleaned.

Kyle Says: Diamondback was a lot of fun! Made his first time at Kings Island worth it all!

Don't trust all spyware removers. Some are just fronts for spyware (nice, huh?)

Spybot in conjunction with AdAware will keep you clean.

Top it off with a good AV software and you're set.

Okay, I'm still semi-computer illeterate here, what is AV software?

Way back before I got my own computer, the machine I had was so plagued with spyware due to siblings using it that even Spybot and AdAware couldn't save it. There would always be the one file that it couldn't kill. My family still owns that computer, is there anything I could do to remove those persistant files?

AV = Anti Virus

Oh, Derr. Yeah. Don't know why I wasn't thinking there for a sec...
Is spybot the best you can get? Where can you get it? Do they have a website?

So, did they blame spyware on liberal agitators? ;) j/k

Also, while your at it, download ZoneAlarm too for a good firewall. I have spybot and love it.

I just downloaded something called Spy Sweeper from Webroot. It scanned my computer and found well over 100 spy-ware programs and delected all of them for me. Of course it's only a 30-day trial, but if it keeps my system clean - I'll be buying it.

Also, if you download Windows Service Pack 2, it blocks downloads unless you tell it to actually download it. However, it blocks pop-ups, but you should allow them on certain sites (here!)
Here's another anti-spyware suggestion.
Two words.
Mozilla Firefox.

"What am I doing?" "OoohwhAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" "I'm hungry like the wolf"- Iron Wolf!
