Former Paramount Parks

I've had a lot of trouble following the Paramount Parks ordeal. Am I correct that Cedar Fair is "acquiring" (buying) the Paramount Parks? Or is there more?

And since it isn't Paramount Parks, are the parks just named Kings Island/Kings Dominion, making the initials KI and KD? I feel like that would make conflict with other park abbriviations...
