Former Darien Lake owner would like to reclaim the park from Six Flags

Buffalo businessman Paul L. Snyder Sr. has his eyes on Darien Lake again. Snyder, who founded the park as a campground 43 years ago, said Tuesday that he is interested in buying the Genesee County theme park, which its current owner, Six Flags, indicated last week that it is thinking about selling.

It would be so nice to see a corporate park become an independent park again. Hopefully EV and SFEG will go the same way.

As for MiA, that really should be one too. It's really too small for a chain park and it's in an out of the way location.away from the major population centers or resort areas.

They could call it something like Thunder Dolphin, Goliath or Expedition GeForce instead, I suppose.

rollergator's avatar While I agree with Arthur about the "independent" thing, I think with THIS park it goes further than that...from MY experience, I think of SFDL as one of the parks that needed some new *in-park* management, the old mgt. didn't seem to impress the employees any more than they did the guests...

Thunder Dolphin is a really cool cosater. It is actually built on top on a building!I have a POV video of it, unfortunately, I have no way of posting it online.If someone wants to post it online., email me at justin.bernard@gmail.com, and I,ll give it to you to post!
