The man who has become the face of the opposition to the treatment of animals at Marineland delivered 76,000 signatures to Queen's Park Monday. Phil Demers, a former Marineland trainer who went public last month with allegations of poor water conditions and the mistreatment of the sea mammals at the Niagara Falls amusement park, brought boxes of papers filled with signatures to the provincial legislature in hopes of delivering them to Premier Dalton McGuinty.

I've been following this story and I certainly give Phil Demers a ton of credit for all the work he has done to force change at the park for better treatment of the animals. Some of the stories that have come out, if true, are just shocking and heartbreaking.

Given the situation, the park owner probably has become backed in a corner and it may be time for him to put the park up for sale. SeaWorld/Busch Gardens Toronto anyone???

I guess online petitions potentially work in Canada.

If he's delivering signatures, maybe it's the old kind, door to door.

We have the same dream. I've heard the owner has had lots of offers over the years and wouldn't sell.

I've been a season pass holder there for years but won't be renewing unless changes are made. Dragon Mountain is a favourite but don't want to financially contribute to something that's hurting animals. The images that came out with the original story were incredibly disturbing.
