While at the Point today (Sunday) I stopped by at Guest Serveces at the front gate to see my old buddies Nancy and Lance. They have a computer behind the desk. Nancy was off today... Guess what web page was being looked at? Coasterbuzz's sister site Pointbuzz.com!!

Lol thats great. So I guess Holiday World isn't the only park that does that.
You'd really be suprised if you knew how many parks check out the more popular coaster-related sites.
Several people at PKI look at PKIUnlimited.com, so it doesn't surprise me at all about PointBuzz.

Someone from a ride manufacturer put it to me this way: "Thanks for all of the free marketing research, as well as some laughs."

Sadly, I think he meant more laughs than research, but yes, the industry does watch the Internet. We're their biggest fans and their harshest critics.

It was mentioned a few years ago at Cedar Point and repeated this past week at Geauga, Bill Spehn looks at the various internet forums and uses that info to gauge park performance.

In a way, that's encouraging and frightening at the same time!
