Food and Wine Festival begins at Epcot

With more than 270 chefs on deck, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival opens today and celebrates 15 years of global indulgences along the World Showcase promenade. From now through Nov. 14, more than 300 international and domestic wines will be poured and more than 75 types of appetizer portion treats will be served.

Has anyone attended this event before? It sounds amazing. From the article I gathered that you have to pay park admission and then pay for each sample. Can any of this be included in your Disney Dining Plan?

I don't think you can use dining plan credits. Everyone I know says this a fabulous event, but be prepared to drop serious coin. We definitely want to do this in another year or two.

Last fall I was able to use my Disney Dining Plan credits at the food and wine fest.

You can use a snack credit to get one of the small portions from the stands around world showcase.

My experience at the Food and Wine Festival was among the worst I've ever had at WDW. The crowd at Epcot was insane and the number of people who were visibly intoxicated and rowdy while doing the Drink Around the World (Showcase) on hard mode (extra stands with beer) were beyond anything I've ever encountered at WDW before.

The festival was kind of cool, but even as a foodie this would be a pass for me next visit.

My office-mate's husband is working the show, he's a wine rep. Would have loved to have taken them up on the invite....but he'll only be there PPP weekend, and PPP is not an attendance-optional event.

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Sounds like my kind of festival.

O ha ha ha my friend is there today and did not plan it.
I'll have to ask them what they thought of it.

We did the F&WF last year. Yes we were able to use a snack credit for any of the food dishes many of which were more then the $ amount listed as the max for the credit. They all had the DP symbol.

The food itself was meh. The portions were so small that you couldn't get the flavor before it was gone. I was completely underwhelmed.

Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.

We are leaving Thursday morning to go to Orlando, and are really looking forward to checking this out. Should be a lot fun.

Food and Wine is my second favorite time to visit the mouse (next to Christmas).
The portions are a bit small, but there is so much variety that you can always find something you haven't tried yet.
EPCOT definitely has a more adult vibe this time of year, so we actually leave the kids at home.
The biggest piece of advice for anyone who wants to go is to avoid the weekends at all costs. The crowds of locals make it unbearable. Weekdays have pretty low crowd levels.
