FOF getting rougher

Last Sunday I rode FOF at PKI and I noticed it seemed a lot rougher that normal, If it still had OTSR last sunday I think I would have died. After they had removed the OTSR I had always thought it being kind of smooth but now it seemes to have really became rough. Has anyone noticed this or is it just me?
Just you, when I rode it not too long ago it was quite smooth, well as smooth as a Premier can be. You are just spoiled by them there smooth woodies that they got at that there park of your's.

Correct me if im wrong. Isn't FOF a Premier built ride.

Yes, it is Premier. Not Vekoma.

Ric Flair was hitting on the female host, he told her - "Space Mountain may be the oldest ride in the park, but it has the longest line." WOOOOO!

FoF at PKD is running better than ever. Being my home park, the first year i had a season pass, it had the OTSR's, and i barely ever rode it. Now it seems like a must-ride every time i go because its one of my favorites at the park.

BTW, FoF was built by Premier Rides, not vekoma.

Thats what I thought coast-er-us.
I just got back from PKD tonight, and I even liked that more than Volcano. I rode it with OTSR's , and it is so much better now. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the Joker's Jinx a clone of that? Six Flags just didn't want to take the time or money to enclose, and theme it.

I believe that Joker's Jinx is a clone of FOF. However, I think that Six Flags wanted people to see the track twisting around itself, almost to the point where you cannot follow the track with your eye. I have not been on FOF or JJ, but my friend who lives near SFA says that it is scary just looking at it because there is so much track there. In the dark you can't see anything so there would be no great head choppers or anything.

Joker does have some great head choppers. By the way I never rode FOF with OTSR but when I went to PKD in early August it was VERY rough. But the front seat was literally smooth as glass. I rode Joker with OTSR last season and it was VERY rough but nothing compared to FOF even with lap bars. Maybe its because I have Chiller at my home park which is smoother then a B&M with lap bars.

The Flight of Fear rides were built by Premier and Designed by Werner Stengel, just to straighten everything out. I doubt it's gotten any rougher. Everytime I ride it, it feels the exact same.

Yes, Jokers Jinx is a clone but the launch is 60mph compared to the 54mph of the Flight of Fear rides. JJ has also never had the midcourse brakes. FoF had them up until the OSTR's were taken off.

FoF has a couple o' floodlights that let you see all the supports, and has great headchoppers.

FOF at PKD still has the MCBR and like Anaconda that damn thing practically brings the entire train to a dead stop.

As for JJ it has become a smoother not to mention louder ride since it went topless and I've yet to have a bad ride on it.

Joker's Jinx is very similar to FOF, but not at perfect clone. The alignments are changed slightly and there is no mid-course brake. There is a clone of JJ in Japan.

JJ is quite smooth with the new trains. The only smoother Premier that I have ridden is Robin The Chiller after its conversion.

I've ridden both FOFs since the conversions and didn't find the ride real rough on either, though not as smooth as JJ. It's possible that a wheel wasn't perfect on the train that you were in. I once had a pounding ride on Gemini at CP due to this. Gemini is normally known for its smoothness.

Isn't Poltergeist also a clone of JJ and Mad Cobra (which is the one in Japan)?

Raging Bull= 107

Poltergeist is at Six Flags Fiesta Texas
Joker's Jinx is at Six Flags America

Mad Cobra is at Suzuka Circuit, the park in Japan.

Those are the Version 2 Premier launched bowl coasters. With FoF at PKI and PKD being the first.

FoF has indeed been getting rougher. My homepark is PKD, and I am also a seasonal associate there. In riding Flight of Fear, I've been noticing a difference lately. The ride is back to the point where I am getting headaches. I cannot believe that this is taking a turn for the worst -- again.

I was at PKD on thursday and I was dissapointed to be practically stopped at the MCBR on FOF. (wow. three abreiviations in one sentence.) I dont remember even feeling the MCBR at PKI.

"I own you!"
"SUCKA!!!!!!!"
-quotes I have been known to exclaim on coasters.

Joe- That is what I thought too. While both are good I found PKD to take off ALOT more speed then at PKI making for a more intense ending on PKI's FOF.

"Enjoy your voyage to the sun on the wings of Apollo's Chariot"

PKI's FOF hasn't touched the MCBR in two years. They only run two trains which I believe is why the MCBR doesn't grab, how many does PKD's run?

-----------------
All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

PKD runs 2 trains also.
