Flying/Lie-Down Coasters?

I could be wrong.......but Stealth at PGA seems like the only total flying/lie-down coaster out there. (I don't count X as a lie-down because it's flips you nine ways to Sunday. It's classified as a "4th-Dimension coaster). I'm just curious as to why other parks haven't used this technology in any of their coasters. It seems to be a popular attraction at PGA.
No one flame him please. X-Flight and Batwing opened after Stealth, 2 flyers identical to Stealth in concept (same company) except with a different layout. This past weekend, B&M opened their second version of a flying coaster, Superman: Ultimate Flight, at Six Flags Over Georgia. They opened their first last month at Alton Towers. So, there are 4 other flyers besides Stealth, and from what I hear, Superman is the best.

Also, the technology is still very new. Give 'em time, there will be plenty around soon enough.

If the shoe fits, find another one.

And don't forget about The Flying Coaster, opening up at SFEG this year. Whooooo!

You are bold, but are you also...daring?

No one flame him please.

That's why I put "I could be wrong..." at the front of my post. I never claimed to be a coaster encyclopedia like some of you guys. :)

Oh, by the way, that comment should have been "No one flame her please." :)

I apologize. You will see once you hang around here some more that if someone makes a post like that (IE: they don't know everything there is about coasters), a bunch of smart-aleks will flame them and put them down because 'EVERYONE KNOWS THAT!!!111'.

Lallen, there are actually a decent number now. 2 opened before Stealth, and both had more flying time than it! Skytrak in ENgland, and Birdmen in Japan. Since Stealth, there are two other Vekomas in the US as mentioend aboce. This year we have been graced wth 3 more flying coasters, 2 in the US and one more in England.

StarCoaster: No problem. I'm a veteran of many message boards. I have been in the midst of many a flame war. I find the degree of flaming usually equals the lack of intelligence in the person doing the flaming, so I just have a good laugh over the whole thing.

And thanks to everyone who responded for their politely offered information. I now know a little more than I did before.

Glad to see you have a sense of humor, Lallen. Sometimes you need it around these kind of places. It's great to have you here! :)

Fear not Lallen... flame wars are pretty rare here because we moderate the hell out of things (much to the dismay of some folks). We try to be inclusive of newbies. No one likes a coaster snob.
