I think what Flying coasters do need are new restraints that will allow anybody to ride the ride. Also it would be better if the pacing was faster, from what i hear they are very slow.

Flying coasters need new designs. Thats why I cant wait to see Air's in Alton Towers. They also need more height. The drops arent over 100 ft in any flying. Ive only rode one, X-Flight, but I agree the "flight" was pretty short. If it was a normal coaster instead of flying it probably would have been boring.

Because of the riding position, Flying Dutchmen have to have limited G forces.  This requires that either the speeds be relatively low or the curves have an exceptionally large radius.  Either of these makes the ride seem slow.  There's not much that can be done about that except maybe place a lot of objects close to the track to increase the feeling of speed.

It is really too bad Vekoma does not want to create new Flying Dutchman layouts AND that they filed for bankrupty.

Flying Dutchman's have the highest G-Force on any coaster that I've been on, that vertical loop is really intense!

My experience with Stealth wasn't good. I don't know how the new ones are but I know stealth didn't feel like it pulled that many G's. I wish it had more flying time though. I think the best part was the Corkscrew because it was so disorienting. B&M will probably make a better one, who knows. Even though I hate Vekoma, I kind of like their car design better. There is a lot that could come out of this ride.

X-Flight is awesome. It's the best coaster I've ever ridden!

I actually thought that X-Flight was just the right length, and it is my favorite coaster, ahead of Millennium Force. I love the in-line twists.

Yeah X-Flight is a pretty cool ride !  Should Vekoma  Change the layout  ?  Yes !  another  horseshoe curve  would have been cool !  But Definatly one great ride ! I Love these things I wonder if B & M will add a loop in their design ?

I didn't feel that X-Flight/Batwing was too short.  Sure, they could be a lot longer, but I don't think it's necessary to make it a great ride.

As for changes I'd like to see in future Flying Dutchmans, I think an underground tunnel with mist would be sweet! :)

How about bunny hops on flyers? Airtime in that position must be pretty good.

Stealth was a LITTLE short, but it was a prototype.  X-Flight and Batwing were near perfect, although Batwing was in a beeter location relative to the park.  Jim F. is right about needing objects close to the track to increase the feeling of speed.  Dare I say it: scenery and theming - read my signature.  But considering body position, etc., they MUST go slower than a standard coaster or the GP riders would feel "discomfort".  Us enthusiaists would feel "glee".
