SFoG has no plans on a new coaster next year that I know of. Wait until '05 for anything new that rolls on rails.

Can we keep in mind here that SFFT uses most of their budget on shows?
They have 2 Intamin free falls ;). Really, a drop tower or an S&S space shot/turbo drop combo wouldn't be a bad idea for their limited budget.

A drop tower is 1 million per tower...hardly cheap by any standards...

#1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!! My top 7 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Montu 3. Yankee Cannonball 4. Kumba 5. Gwazi 6. Cyclone (SFNE) 7. B:DK

This has been said many many times before: NONE of the SF parks know anything about next year, except MAYBE for the ones who have even the slightest chance at all of getting a coaster.....$75 million is alot of money.....they will probably use it to do some needs for the parks that need "help" and with the rest of it, I would imagine a new roller coaster for at least one park. Now, SFFT does not even know for sure what they are getting....they might not get anything until 2005 or 2006...but one thing is for sure...there is a very small chance of SFFT or any other SF park for that matter getting a new coaster.

Last year, Fiesta Texas recieved a jump in attendance even though there was nothing new, and the jokers revenge was removed. Do you think that is any incentive to build something else there?

Perhaps getting rid of Joker's Revenge WAS their reward. Yipes!

My guess is Greezed Lightnin' will draw rave reviews at SFNO next year! Keep Shockwave away! They already have enough loopers with Jester, Zydeco Scream (Boomer), and B:TR (which is my FAV Batman of all I've ridden).

My vote is for one scrumdiddlyumpcious Schwartzkopf vertical loop as opposed to 7 "Error-ohhh" Dynamics ® inversions.

Shockwave, in all probablity, would be a good addition to SFNO because it's big and VERY marketable. It's cheap to move and erect there, too.

Just my 2 cents, tho.

I agree if they're going to give SFNO something don't make it Shockwave, because its oonly purpose to me is a big blue statue even if it runs.

Happy Birthday Brian!! :)

Maybe you'll get your Anton classic then for the Big 2-9.

I bet you one of the two main parks that get a major improvement will be SFWoA.

Six Flags Worlds of Adventure Online

And Frontier City... Theres some wishful thinking.

The addition of a flyer on the quarry wall would make SFFT on of the highest quality parks I have been to. At this point it is just a little short on coasters, but the ones it has are very good (except Rattler) and it has a good assortment of flats. Beyond that the park is incredibly un-6Flags like; very clean, well themed, with good shows. Its funny my favorite park, BGW, is also short on coasters but offers a great experience. I guess it goes to show that quality is sometimes better than quantity.

Two years ago when Joker's Revenge was shut down I was sure that this was going to happen. However, with the current state of Six Flags finances I am not sure that they will invest that much money in what is one of their lower tier parks right now. I expect this to happen eventually, just not next year. I also cannot wait until they tear down Rattler and place a real coaster in its place.

And just think, Enigma, a season pass for SFFT is only $50.

Ask about my references!

SFFT is the 6th highest attended park in the SF chain I do believe. I wouldn't consider it one of their lower teir parks. Their attendance is somewhere around 2.3 million. I wouldn't totally rule them out for a major coaster.
*sniff sniff* I remember Fiesta Texas before it was a Premier Park and before everybody had heard of it. Every ride was a total walk on. It's still wierd going there and seeing 2 hour lines on everything. *sigh* I guess kids have to grow up someday...

Fiesta Texas does have a small chance of getting a coaster next year, but other than that guys, I wouldn't hope too high....
Speaking of season passes, I happened to be down in San Antonio (I live in MI) for a wedding in early April, and stopped by SF:FT for a few hours. Unfortunately, due to the wedding that day, we were not able to stay longer. We still rode all the coasters, and really liked S:KC and Poltergeist. However, there was so much more there than just coasters, and I really want to go back to experience the entire park. I was very impressed with it, from what little I saw.

Anyway, we picked up our SF season passes there for $50, and then went on to use them at 3 other SF parks (and 4 days worth) this year. So I got into each park for only $10! Not a bad deal at all. Now, I've just got to find an excuse to go down to San Antonio next year.... ;)

Take care and God bless!

I know. That is why I have been getting my season pass there. Also since I am currently located in Waco I tend to visit SFoT and SFFT in equal amounts. My wife's pregnancy this summer has certainly limited our coastering, but hopefully I will make it out to the park one more time this year.
