Fly By Wire?

Has anyone ever done this? I believe there is one in Texas but I am not sure. I know there are others around the world. This looks amazing to me, to be able to safely control your own aircraft going up to 100 miles per hour.
Is that the thing they did on one of the Road Rules shows on MTV?

I'm not sure about Road Rules, but I do know that it was shown at the end of one of those coaster shows. Looks like a blast!

Matt Lynch, who hasn't watched a season of Road Rules since the first. Nothing can top that one...

I believe there are two operating versions of this in New Zealand. I drive by the site here in Texas (south of Ft. Worth) on a fairly regular basis. The primary structures with the suspension line hanging are in place, but other than that the site looks abandoned. I tried the webpage www.texasflybywire.com just the other day and it returns a dns error. I'm wondering if the project went belly up here in the states? It definitely looks interesting, and I will be disappointed if it did. Anyone with more info, please post it.
Bruce, Yes. It was on Road Rules. I saw it! It was pretty sweet. Your speed would depend on the length of the wire and power of the engine. So hope that it's long!!!!

Yup, when they rode them on Road Rules they were flying between two mountains. They had a ton of near misses!
